My son is bi-polar. He is 43 now and is a tutor. Lots of struggles over the years. My husband and I have not a day that we don't worry and wonder about him. Ups and downs with him are exhausting, he struggles, we struggle along with him. Being a mother I think I worry more and I don't think I have ever had a good nights sleep when I don't hear from him enough. I just hope and pray, and try never to expect the worst, but the thought is always there in my head.

What I’ve gathered from my own mental depression is I just can’t get out of my own head. It’s like thinks are great, and then all of a sudden a sound, a word, something will hit me and I’m back inside my head. It’s tough. Music helps. Knowing I’m not alone helps. But it’s never gone.

As someone who has gone through this with my wife (alcohol issues; attempted suicide, she got help, but everyday is a struggle) it is something that you have to try and be as supportive as possible. As someone who suffers with depression and anxiety, I appreciate you leaving up the hotline for help. There are times where I just get stuck in my head, and my husband knows this and he can sense it and see it written all over my face and my body language; and he does his best to help. Even if its just a sympathetic ear or a shoulder to cry on; it helps make me feel like I'm not alone and struggling by myself like my brain is telling me I am. For everyone else who doesn't know how to help, or thinks that they CAN'T help; ALL you have to do some times is just BE there for them. Those of us who suffer, bottle EVERYTHING inside and FEEL like we can't let it out... Just BE a soundboard, a solid shoulder, let them know you are there for them no matte what. LOVE the reaction @Birdman, love what you do and may God continue to bless you and your family! Much Respect man!

Definitely a PASS! I've been down this road- I'm a first responder and just lost a work colleague to this. I was the one to find him. *Puts head in hands and sobs* His family is getting a lot of support and I'm doing my best to stay close to them. It's all I can do.:-(:-(:-(:-(:-(:-( You can't watch over them 24/7 and it's a tough road to ride along on. What you do is keep encouraging the help- take them there if you must,be with them when they make that phone call, but keep encouraging, keep supporting and above all else, keep loving them.

Depression and anxiety are two things I deal with... thankfully I've never tried to commit suicide because of it. Most of the time my medicine helps but occasionally it sneaks through. I didn't tell you this when I told you my story about why this meant so much to me. But as you said I have been through a lot and there have been days where I felt like her. But that is not why the song resonates with me. This video is taken from the perspective of her husband. as you said you can't watch them all the time. The husband and the video was a police officer. My husband is a correctional officer. Still law enforcement and still an essential worker. He has been afraid to leave me alone before. I'm doing better now but as you said it can be as simple as flipping the switch. By seeing this video, I was able to see things from his point of view clearly for the first time in my life. And it really change the way I handle my depression.
