Just listen to the words without the video. He's singing about unconditional love. That's what your wife sent you. Every time you are able,, sir, tell her & your children that you return that love. Thank you for your service to our country. I pray you are doing well.

Chris is donating the proceeds of this song to a mental health organization that provides resources for those in need. (The website is shown at the end of the video, but YT won't let me type it in.) There is a, "Making Of Fire Away" video that interviews Chris, the director and actors that talks about where this song came from. This character is suffering from bipolar disorder, but it can be any type of mental health struggles. I'm so sorry you struggle. And I appreciate what you've done and given of yourself for this country. If you're a person who believes in prayers, I'll be praying for you. If not, just consider it a big hug and lots of positive vibes. 🫶 I appreciate you.

Those last words, "I didnt find her" hit me like a ton of bricks. I didnt find my husband who was a Veteran and lost his battle with mental issues. Chris Stapleton accomplished raising awareness of mental health illness with this song.

Please know that you are not alone. There are a lot of us out there. I give all of the credit to my husband who has stuck it out for 31 years. He has had to sit by my hospital bed and watch me throw up all of the black charcoal. Plenty of hard work and finally getting the right medication is needed too. Don't give up

You are a very special, caring human being. I'm so glad you have a wife and kids who love you and need you. That's one of the very best things in life. I love it that you're reaching out to others, trying to help them deal with depression. I'm glad I met you today. I feel richer for it. I felt true depression once in my life when our daughter died of SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome). She was 'perfect,' but she was gone. The only thing that made me live was my husband and son (he was 2 at the time). The pain never leaves, but one learns to live with it and find the things that give you joy. I'm glad you've started this channel. Keep reaching out. Keep knowing that you have a lot to give others. Know that even people who don't really know you are reaching out to you. Thanks. I'll watch for your next video, plus check out the ones you've already done.

Thank you for your service to this country Sir. I am an Air Force veteran and I too suffer from depression and ptsd. It is so hard to explain to others what it truly feels like. Not what they see on tv or the internet. This video tore me up because it is the closest portrayal that I have ever seen of serious mental health issues. Thanks for doing this video, I know it must have broke your heart as well. But you pushed through it and have shown or even reminded people that this is very serious stuff. Well done, and again, thank you for your bravery in serving this country. My heart goes out to you.

Chris Stapleton did a lot of research and put a lot of respect and advocacy into mental illness awareness into this video. It shows the extreme highs and lows of being mentally ill and the ones that try to save their loved ones. It also shows the representation that even as a cop, who saves so many, couldn't save his loved one from her mental illness on his own. Acceptance, awareness, and action, stopping the taboo and speaking openly about these issues, helping your loved one to get help is how we save one another. 💚 ; your story isn't over yet

They kept pressuring Chris to do a video. He agreed if they would do it his way. He wanted to shine a light on mental health. Mental health is a health issue not a choice. I know. You are doing something important and caring by sharing your health problem. Even if people reach out and say, How are you today? No how are you really doing? It means more than you know

My guess is she was bi polar because they show going from screaming on the bed to jumping up and down on it. This song is so beautiful, and the video shows both sides of a relationship where someone is battling mental illness. When I saw the title, I knew this would hit you hard. Chris normally doesn't do videos, but choose this song to do one to highlight the struggle of those who deal with mental illness. I find that admirable. The actors in this video are tremendous as well. You don't deserve to go through what you go through either. I'm so glad that you have that support system. They love you, and I'm sure it's hard for all of you. They know you're worth the fight every single day. You are doing a great service helping people as you continue to help yourself. Please consider reacting to George Strait's song Weight of the Badge. There are two versions of the video please do this one. It's a tribute to first responders. kzbin.info/www/bejne/pZbOYolul9t9kKs

As a fellow depressed person, I want to raise my glass to the fact that you are that self-aware. I've dealt with the dark beast my entire life and I'm 55 years old. Maybe I inherited it from my mom (RIP) but where ever I got it from, I've made it this far. It's a daily struggle and like you said some days are really great but others are not. I'm the type that puts on a good face for everyone else but not for myself. Hang in there brother. Each episode you survive can make you stronger - believe me, it gets harder the older you get. I tell myself that "I survived another one". And maybe it's not much comfort, but thank you for your service.

I battled depression and anxiety for a year and a half after losing my mom and for QUITE a while prior to that while being her caregiver. Thankfully, I have a VERY understanding husband who recognized and understood the signs and stood by me through all of it....I am proud to say that I was FINALLY able to come out on the other side a stronger, more beautiful, and more empowered version of myself, but I don't think I would have been able to do it without his support, so to say that I fully understand where you are coming from is a complete understatement! I remember snapping on my husband and kids for no reason, and I can't help but feel soooo grateful that they understood and stood by me when I needed it!❤❤❤

Want to add this to my comment. I have dealt with depression on & off for years. It's a truism that laughter is medicine. It's always helped me. When I'm down I try to find something to make me laugh out loud at least once every single day. Since you're doing music videos, why not start there? May I suggest Ashley McBryde, Caylee Hammack & Pillbox Patti singing "Brenda Put Your Bra On" & Toby Keith singing "I Ain't As Good As I Once Was". Toby has several funny ones. How about Brad Paisley "Ticks". Be well, sir.

You are not alone, Sir. As a spouse to someone who has dealt with depression and other health issues, I can tell you are not alone and your family is always better for having you. It's alright to be honest with them and to let them be strong for you when you need it. Our family is at a better place now, but it wasn't a straight paved road. There were often potholes with many sharp curves. We all learned to talk through the rough times, but always coming from a place of love. Eventually, we learned to laugh more than cry. Our family mantra comes from the movie Steel Magnolia "laughter through tears is (our) favorite emotion". LOL! Btw-The words of this song nailed it for me when I heard it the first time, too.

You will never identify the good days if you never have the bad ones. To the outside world I choose to be alone so I can't hurt others when I'm not good. 19 years and counting of extra years I owe to a trucker and good medical assistance both then and now. I don't even remember much about apart from thinking without id on me It'd be a while before I was noticed missing. I choose every day I'm alive to silently thank that trucker as I'll never be able to do so in person. Due to other health issues I haven't worked for the last 6 years until I got a new job last year. Celebrated my 1st full year back in work last week. Every win is just that, a WIN. I hope that you get any and all help to ensure your kids and wife get to have you walk with them ❤. Seen a poster all those years ago saying every minute 1 in 4 people are experiencing a mental health crisis which allows 3 in 4 people to help that 1 in need 😊

Im a social wirker as well a farmers daughter and i deal with depression too. 2 red flags for me were her walking barefoot thru cornfield as dried cornstalks cut like razors. Shes oblivious to the pain from the cuts i know shes getting with every step. 2nd, shes sitting in bathtub with clothes on. Nobody who is ok does that. I knew she was getting ready to drown herself just because of that. My uncle was WWII Vet. Mama said he came back different. Then his first wife cheated and he loved her dearly. Broke his heart and ended in divorce. He slept with woman he didnt love, she lied about being pregnant so he married her. She said she lost baby. Later, she really got pregnant and baby seemed fine but at age 2, something wrong and he was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy. Another heartbreak. But they took excellent care of my cousin and he lived to be 34. Totally unheard of. My aunt was sweet but extremely needy. My uncle drowned himself in alcohol to escape. He retired after 38 years and was with her then, full time. He had PTSD untreated, lived with needy woman he couldnt stand, and he felt useless. My aunt had to gp tempirarily to nursing home, so my parents had my uncle stay with them for 3 weeks each and my uncle got better. He smiled and joked, like he used to, and looked forward to going out on farm with daddy everyday and going fishing. Then my aunt would call crying and his whole mood changed. She begged him to come get her and he did, then he went to utility shed, put gun in mouth and pulled trigger. Its sent shock waves through all of us. Sir, i appreciate you and what you do here. I appreciate your service and your daily battles with depression. Its a dark place. But so glad you have a wife who loves and supports you. Sounds like shes your angel. Hold her tight and get help you need along way for your feelings. We all who watch you want to keep you with us! My heart is with you. ❤❤

@@TormentedVet_Reactions Thank you dear sir. My uncles death was many years ago. But I've thought of suicide few times and God keeps stepping in. I guess he kinda likes me. I was investigative social worker for State of Alabama for 25 years in area of adult and child abuse/neglect. I carry with me, in my mind and heart, many unspeakable horrors. But I protected alot of elders and kids and I was their voice when they didn't have one. So it was worth it. What your doing with your channel and connecting with folks on deep levels is so WORTH it! God put you here for a reason and this is just one of them! On bad days, read what followers have told you about how much we like and enjoy you. Then go hug your sweet wife and just take the time to feel her body melt into yours. She's known your worth it from the day you met her. You are loved, appreciated and cherished.
