This was only the 2nd time I've checked out your site. B4 I say anything else let me be very, very clear, I'M SO PROUD OF YOU SIMPLY BC YOU DIDN'T ALLOW A SUBSCRIBER SHAME YOU INTO DENYING A TRUE TALENT BY THE NAME OF CHRIS STAPLETON!! I ALSO APPRECIATE YOU DENOUNCING IT ON YOUR SITE TODAY. AND I BELIEVE LIKE YOU THAT MUSIC HAS NO COLOR. I'm a 66 yr old white female who, like you, simply enjoy singers who are truly talented. I have enjoyed singers from Smokey Robinson, Bone, Nirvana, The Platters, Whitney Houston, Blake Shelton, Blue Oyster Cult etc.. If a person puts themselves in a box with only what they believe is "Their music" then I feel really very sad for them bc they haven't opened their heart or ears which is where the musc first touches you. PLEASE, PLEASE REMAIN TRUE TO YOURSELF & NEVER LET A PERSON TAKE YOUR SOUL & YOUR LOVE FOR ALL FORMS OF MUSIC. WILL BE BACK TO HEAR & FEEL THE NEXT ARTIST YOU REACT TO. STAY STRONG IN THE FAITH & ALWAYS REMEMBER THAT WE ARE ALL THE FATHERS CHILDREN.

Truth, Akita Girl! Music is universal. 63 years walking this planet. I've sat in a flat in Oslo playing music with people I'd never met until that evening from the US, Norway, Poland, and Morocco. Someone would start playing and the others would chime in with their own voice, their own culture, their own background, and most importantly, their own heart, which made it beautiful. No language barrier. Just music. What Chris Stapleton does is incredibly difficult and daring. He crawls inside a song and finds its essence. Then he takes massive risks by exposing his heart and how the music speaks to him. Scary stuff for a performer but it makes the music real and visceral. And we respond to that heartfelt emotion. I talk about connecting with my audiences at the speed of music. No interpretation needed. From one heart to one heart. Chris Stapleton achieves that every time without fail. And to see the love between him and Morgane on stage and to hear the passion between the two when they sing is a thing of true beauty.

Music is Magic.....and it doesn't matter what race the performer is. It all comes down to what touches your soul. It is sad to think some people box themselves into one race or genre of music. I just love music...all kinds. The point of reacting to songs of all genres is to discover magic, in all different types of music. We all grow up hearing what our families start us on as kids...then as teens we kind of gravitate to what your group of friends are into....but hopefully you branch out and find that there are so many freaking awesome singers out there. I am a 55 yr old woman , and I have tried to make my kids listen to it all....heck I listen to old rock , R&B , pop, rap, country, alternative, americana folk.....not much into classical or opera , but even those genres have brought a tear to my eye...lol...ROCK ON BUDDY.....Haters gonna hate (loudly)...especially in the days of Trumpty Dumpty...lol ////Cindi Aker

I absolutely agree with you; Chris Stapleton’s has had a lot of R&B influence and it shows in how he plays his guitar and sings. Personally, let me say that, I absolutely adore Chris Stapleton‘s voice and how he plays the guitar. But I also think that his bluesy and soulful sound makes Nashville kinda scratch it’s head; Honestly, we should’ve heard a lot more from Chris Stapleton way before we actually did, but I really think they didn’t know what to do with his sound. I don’t think Country, collectively speaking, knew what to do with someone that sounds as soulful and bluesy as Chris Stapleton; he’s Country, but he’s also so much more. I’ve been born and raised in East Tennessee, and country music is one of the many genres I grew up listening to, and believe me when I tell you that, I have never heard a country artist sound like Chris Stapleton......ever. And FYI… That’s a very good thing. People are deathly afraid of change, and I guess that goes for the music industry as well.

I listened to this intro.. I'm a white grandma.. the kind of comment is what's wrong with the world and you were correct to call it out. I don't personally think you have a clue what country is about however.. but in PBS right now they show a documentary on country music.. how American music is a mixture of poor folks.. Irish immigrants.. black spiritual.. Appalachian.. the early radio country that started with folks like the "Carter Family". Chris is a full blooded country artist.. he's written so many songs that are country.. and like all country songs he tells a story. Blues, country, soul are all intertwined, don't forget Ritcheous Brothers!!! You should expand your listening options.. if you really love music I think the boxing up of music is the real impediment to growth. I'm not subbed yet, but I'll pay attention to you.. since I'm sure you'll show up in my feed again, and I'll see what you do. Liked the song.. but Chris has so much more.

The song Tennessee Whiskey was written for George Strait, who passed on it. David Alan Coe and George Jones recorded it in the early 80's. Their versions are country, and sound nothing like Chris Stapleton's version which has a heavy blues vibe to it. Chris Stapleton reminds me a lil of Stevie Ray Vaughan. Chris is stronger on vocals, Stevie was (R.I.P.) stronger on guitar. You should react to Stevie Ray Vaughan. Food, music, a lover.... if it's good, it's good and you just know it.
