“All of the music that I've recorded over the years I think, it's all country music of one kind or another. Maybe some of it has grown up in the city but that don’t mean you’re taking the country out of it. I mean, you take the blues gone out of Mississippi and go up to Chicago, it’s still basically country blues. But of course, people live in the city. Same with the Mexican music. A lot of these guys now live in cities but it's still basically country music, whether its Norteño or Michoacanos. The same thing with the with the Mexican music in Texas that I recorded or the Cajun music, even the New Orleans jazz. I still feel that the guys who plays that, like George Lewis, he may have been born and raised in the city, but he still has a country feel to him.
