Some people ,you never forget.Chris was one of the most soulful people I knew back in the late '60s.He had a big heart and I will be looking for him when I pass over that way.XO always

Chris was so special... Traffic just wasn't Traffic w/out him... his woodwind playing was mysterious, often haunting, but always beautiful.

For my brother and me Traffic was one of the truely magical live bands like the Dead and Alman Brothers when time stood still. Chris Wood was and is still our favourite Flute & Sax player from the Rock world along with the Jazz giants Coltrane, Rollins and Hawkins. A big thank you for the memories :-)

I saw Traffic for the first time in NYC @ the Academy on 14st. 1972 or 73. They were phenomenal! Each one a virtuoso of his instrument. Sadly, Chris was so loaded that after mumbling something to the audience he fell on stage. Winwood cleaned up the whole scene quickly with a little talking and then an amazing piano solo. Chris was so immensely gifted a musician and talented as a performer that we all over looked these things. Terribly sad day to learn of his passing. I often imagine him and Steve Marriott doing some great gigs together in the here after. Rebop passed, and recently I heard Roscoe Gee did too. Capaldi passed leaving Stevie to carry on.

Well the resurrection of all those in the memorial tombs is maybe nearer than ever.. Now ..That is to say when Jehovah the creator of the universe after a big sort out of human affairs.. Brings back to life .. Those who have died little by little.. They are sleeping in the graves at the moment. George Benson Hank Marvin know of what I speak and so did Prince Nelson .. That is your clue

I saw hat show. It was 2/9/73, with Free opening. Great night of music, regardless of the Walenda show.

Well I have known Traffic since Hole in my shoe and dear Mr Fantasy but Your sound is very melodic and never have I heard of you.. though I liked the Idle Race and loved music from 1967 onward..

I loved his sax playing on the original "Feelin' Alright." Seemed like an extension of Dave Mason's low-key, on-the-edge-of-defeat vocals. Steve Winwood's harmonies were excellent too.

I’ve never seen the ones of him clowning around by the pink van. Where’s the last pic from? Looks like a screenshot from a video? Beautiful and magical human being.
