BOWMAN GRAY DRIVER ANGRY AT OFFICIALS - DELAYS RACING FOR 10 MINUTES; RADIO CHATTER CRAZY!

The driver of the 21 car in the Sportsman Division at Bowman Gray, Tommy Neal, showed some serious displeasure with Bowman Gray Racing officials after he disagreed with their decision to put a car back in front of him that he felt didn't belong there.
It all started when a caution came out for a spinning car but 2 more cars behind that spin also had an issue on the track. Officials will often and usually put cars that have issues after the caution back in their spot from before the caution, so when officials told the 19 car to go back in front of the 21 car, Tommy Neal wasn't having it.
He kept the 19 car behind him, causing him to be black flagged on the restart. He stopped on the track, bringing out another caution. When they went green again, he went slow, bringing out another caution. Then he pulled his car sideways across the start finish line, got out of his car and pointed and yelled toward the tower where the officials call the race from.
And this descriptions of the events doesn't even take into account what was said on the various radio channels heard in the recording, a lot of which had to be bleeped for young ears.
Officials ended up towing the 21 car to the infield of the track for the remainder of the race so the driver and team couldn't cause any further delays.

@@shaynejenkins446 If you will look into it at the tracks NASCAR sanctions, only the top 2 classes are actually sanctioned. And if you have a track sanctioned by them you have send them a check each week for 5% of what your front gate is. That is in addition sanctioning fees and insurance.

I have no idea if you’re correct or not but if you’re right, track officials should have black flagged the 19 for failure to comply with race officials. That would have prevented this clown show… But from what I understand about Bowman Gray, that’s how they roll… Clown Show on Wheels…

In an alternate universe, he retrieved his car and modified it so that NOBODY could get to it by using Flex Super Glue to hold the hood shut. He then wrestles the flagman to the ground and gets out a big black piece of paperboard with the words RACERS STILL ON TRACK in white paint. The pace car ATTEMPTS to come out, but the guy who modified his car wouldn't let him as he begins to wreck it in retaliation for what the flagman that he shoved to the ground did to the point of not being able to go out onto the track AT ALL. The drivers who got the big black piece of paperboard proceed to regrettably go to the infield to park their cars; the driver that held it then gets to race BY HIMSELF for only SEVEN LAPS so that he can get his points for winning by default (with the rest of them having to accept the black paperboard and forfeiting to get none).

It’ll be the first big test of how things “won’t change” under NASCAR ownership! The longtime BGS Garrisson management rewarded (behind the scenes) this kind of antics because it packs the place! I quit going years ago. No other track would permit threats to officials like that, and he killed 20 minutes of curfew limited racing time! I also noticed that the crowd, while by no means small, has been down the past couple weeks!

He ruined a race, undertook and overtook several cars on a caution, risked the safety of officials, blatantly blocked the track, caused multiple interventions, bought the sport into disrepute. The only people who would have loved this was the cheering spectators and some of the competitors either wanting to count the laps down with them being High up the order or opportunistic drivers rear of the field. Everyone else would have had a range of emotions due to the antics of this guy. In my mind, as that vehicle can't go on the public highway don't tow his property off the premises but take it to court, see to it that he is banned First off from that series, then nationally, hopefully extending worldwide, also have him fined, in serious cases, some countries, if you do something amiss on a race track, your driving is held to account like it would be on the roads in your towns and cities, this is the worst instance of petullant and dangerous driving I've ever seen at a track. I heard the spotter say "we'll come back next week". He would even be allowed to buy a spectators ticket if I had anything to do with it, if I had anything to do with this sanctioning body, id be pushing for the most severe punishments available. In short, an out and out disgrace.
