Now this being said its been 10+ years since I've hunted anything. Not due to me not wanting to just not having time. I wanted to actually talk about is just how inspiring you and your team are for me. The ideas and knowledge you bring to the table are beyond crucial for me. Everything you have been teaching or demonstrating has helped me get better and better. Where do you get a target like that Chris
@Life-of-Bluegrass_Music5 жыл бұрын
The only thing that makes a target bow more accurate, is like 65% let off and a 7" brace. Most hunting bows are 75% to 90% let off, with a shorter brace 5" to 7" brace. I use too shoot Hoyt. Now I shoot Mathews. Trust me I don't regret getting rid of my Hoyt. Hoyt is 600 to 800 dollars more, and half the bow compared to a Mathews. My Halon 6 and Triax are dead in the hand. Silent as a church mouse. No hump and dump like a Hoyt. No spongy back wall like a Hoyt has. No noise and vibrations like a Hoyt. You can stand next too the Halon and newer Mathews when shot. You can't hear them at all. All you hear is the arrow burying in the target.

Honestly, this can be bad for you. I was a skinny teenager and only my bow muscles were strong. I could pull an 80 lbs bow and was smaller than Chris. But the opposing muscles were undeveloped and I got shoulder issues. You can't have huge back muscles on your right side and nothing else. @emknight845 жыл бұрын
The match up is more like Practical vs impractical. Only in target shooting can you have a 3 foot stabilizer off the front of your bow. Also the bow was designed to be a hunting/ war tool.
@Life-of-Bluegrass_Music5 жыл бұрын
You can use that RX1 with longer stabilizers. You put longer stabilizers on the front and back of the RX1. Also change the let off to more holding weight. It will shoot great for target. It be for sure way faster. More speed equals more distance and a tighter pin gap. Equals more accuracy. 60 to 80 yards with a hunting bow. 4" groups. With a HHA slider hunting sight. What would a target sight do? You be smacking arrows.
@emknight845 жыл бұрын
@@Life-of-Bluegrass_Music my point is just that up in the woods in NH and Maine I wouldn't want that big old stabilizer on either end getting tangled in everything I come across.

I was always told never to throw my bow to the left after a shot just to see my arrow so why do you do it?
@mikeford9636 жыл бұрын
Depends on his release/follow through technique. Or his setup. The bow should either not move at all, or go straight forward towards the target.
@mikeford9636 жыл бұрын
Also, hard to tell from the angle of the shot, but it looks like he's a bit long in the draw length which could cause that as well.
@tylergilmore98066 жыл бұрын
Your left arm controls your left arm. Not a release, follow through only. To me its just a bad habit.

I doesn't matter what you do with the bow, as long as the arrow is already done being effected by it.

If you do another comparison like this, set the bows up as closely as possible (same draw weight, same letoff, same arrow rest, sight, stabilizers,, same release,) and I bet you will find that the hunting bow scores pretty much exactly the same. . . Anyone questioning whether or not a good hunting bow is up to the task of serious target competition, just remember this. . . The current world compound FITA record is held by the Mathews SWITCHBACK, a 33"ata hunting bow. . .
