When I was a few months into archery I used to shoot 250-350 arrows and be at the club from 9am till 2pm. It was the only day I could shoot and I wanted to get in the reps. It was a light poundage and the bows physical weight was lighter so I could shoot all day. The main thing was focus that started to drift.

That pinch and radiating pain is coming from compression to your brachial plexus. Most likely due to muscles surrounding your scapula and neck tightening from overuse. Anyone that has that even with only a small number of shots can really benefit from lower trap, rhomboid and RTC strengthening to improve endurance and position when shooting. Crazy amount of arrows man, good shooting.

This is pretty impressive man! It's hard to imagine shooting that many arrows in a day! I usually try to shoot at least 30-50 a day but anything over 100 seems like a lot to me. You got me inspired to do more lol. Great video as always!

Awesome video Chris! During indoor season, I was able to dedicate more time to shooting and was averaging 250-350 arrows in a day. I had 3 days in a row where I shot 450 arrows. Most I have ever shot at once. Took me 3 days to recover 😂 In a good week, im shooting around 2,000 arrows. Now I'm considering taking a day and trying to see how close I can get to 1,000. Don't think I'll get it, but certainly looks fun!

Great video Chris, i love watching you shoot, excellent consistency and form, I wish i was half as accurate as you at those distances. When i started archery about 15 years ago, I would shoot 2 or 3 times a week and get about 200-250 arrows in, per session, but life and family gets in the way so i haven't shot much for the last 10 years, just getting back into it and I picked up a frozen shoulder about 12 months ago, due to an injury at work, now i cant lift my arm horizontally holding a cup of tea, let alone a bow, so it looks like I will be out of action for at least another 6 - 12 months ! I just shoot through guys like you, thank you.

Chris, Well done. 400 is a huge number. I know this is an old video, but keep in mind that 1000 arrows at 100 per hour is 10 hours of shooting and that is if you can average 100 per hour which is going to BEE (see what i did there) a huge grind and non stop. The best I have done is 150 but that was just enjoying the day. Keep up the good work, your videos are inspiring.

Shooting a high volume arrows in a day I find taking even a couple minute break makes a big difference in the fatigue that sets in. Once I'm fatigued I drop down to 3-4 shot groups and hang my bow when I gather the arrows and this really helps with my accuracy. I started with archery last September and its been addict levels of obsession. As I have evolved as an archer I have made a lot of changes; to my grip, anchor point, draw length, release length, switched to different releases, played with 8 different kinds of arrows and all have required I paper tune the bow again and I'm shooting 4 different bows right now. So every time I make a change it requires a high volume of arrows to get 4 bows tuned, I have easily shot over 100 arrows in a day doing all my tinkering. I was actually looking for a clicker counter to keep track of how many arrows I actually shoot as I neglect the note pad I try to tally the shots with. My accuracy suffers more from fatigue holding up the bow vs the arm I draw with. although my drawing shoulder is always stiff as I shoot daily. A tricked out bow gets to 7# pretty quick and I notice holding up this bow after a higher volume of shooting so its nice to drop back to a 5# bow after fatigue sets in.

That's a lot of arrows. Props for keeping your shot process true. For me, the most I've shot is 200 in a day. I do that quite regularly leading up to hunting season. Oh BTW I shot Redding last weekend in the rain and the new Bee Real/UV grip on my TRX 34 is legit!

Doesn't shooting a thumb release like that start to hurt your pointer finger? I just started shooting compound this year I'm shooting a exit release I've noticed shooting all day starts to hurt pointer finger. I was shooting at daylight outfitter on their simulator and I had to hold my bow through several videos waiting for a clean shot and I noticed my finger starting to hurt holding my bow back. Is that a me thing or a release thing?

You have already given me some ideas, by having a larger bunch of arrows, yuri shoots like 100 arrows in the theory of shooting practice, I've already thought about setting up a wall block target like what Easton archery would sell, yeah, poundage, layoff, larger bunch of arrows as opposed to a smaller bunch, larger bunches of arrows means less trips

Max I put out was about 600ish. With a combination of barebow and trad. Was a lot of blank bale and form work with a low poundage bow though, so a lot easier to do. of that, I got 2x 720s in. The blank bale definitely made the arrow count inflate significantly though

Hey bro. I have had the same thing with the inch in my scapula, its from raising the elbow a touch to high and its an impingement of he median nerve with the scapula which is the nerve that runs down your whole arm, especially with that volume in that amount of time. You're a far better archer then I and have shot plenty more arrows but thought id let you in on what it mostly likely is from my experience,

Crazy Chris is my new name for you. Can’t imagine a 1000 shots. I remember Dave Cousins saying he shot up to 750 in a day several years back when he was prepping for those “ pro archery series “ events in the UK and Europe. They were based on World Archery Outdoor Field courses I believe. Was creating his own numbers sight tapes for all those angle shots.

Well, I have been comparing notes about shooting practices and methods, of lengthy archery shooting working out, on another video a guy referred to as uguri is doing a 100 arrows succession right handed with recurve, and 4 loaded quivers, and I'm also crossing his video with chris bee's video, of theoretical 1000 arrows in a day. Well I'm thinking the approach is still highly favorable, but I'm still planning for balancing my crossfit cross training recurve and compound bow with different bows at different weights and let-offs are a bit different, and yes,I will have about 35 arrows per different bow ,cause I'm thinking of often do I want to go to the target and recover arrows and keep shooting, yes,my approach will take a fair bit of money, but this is all depending on how important is your desire your activity going, and money part is to keep it as cheap as possible, your just going to put yourself through some really good endurance training, on both sides of shoulder's, if your up to it,

Might manage it with the compound, not with barebow or English Longbow (could probably work up to barebow if I got very motivated, there aren't enough arrows in the world for the longbow) One of the many reasons I don't use a lens is that I don't notice the wobbles as much

Ever have your release slip out of your hand? Happened to me yesterday when I was tired so now I’ll have a few days off while I wait for my busted cam and frayed string to get replaced. I definitely didn’t shoot 1000 in a day but I had been shooting on and off all day. I’m glad I didn’t get hurt, just the bow but figured I’d see if someone as good as you had ever had that happen.

Very nice. If you are an experienced archer it's not so difficult to shoot 100 arrows in a row - like for example a 900 round plus 2 rounds of practice. In a normal practice I can shoot a 900 round during 2½-3 hours incl. breaks, shooting 3 or 6 arrows pr. round. There is no way I could make it to 1000 arrows in a day. I'd guess the maximum I have shot is somewhere between 100 and 150. But the theory is good - if you normally attend comps. where you shoot 6 arrow rounds, the training could be with 8 arrow rounds. Because if you can shoot 8 arrows you can also shoot 6. Or if a normal comp is appr. 100 arrows, train some days with perhaps 120 arrows.

I’ve shot 200 in a day. Could feel it for sure. Not sure if quantity will prevail over quality. Muscle memory will get worked for sure but maybe in a bad way. I shot on the USMC shooting team in quantico for 2 years. We would have days like this training to see how much we could accurately shoot until we failed to hit center. I’d like to see a video of how many shots say at 50 yards you could shoot without missing the oranges dots. After this video I did this…. Made it to 58 shots on a 4” dot

Hello mr chris bee sir, I've been watching a lot of stuff on KZbin for the past couple of years, I came across the video of,, 100 arrows succession with his video name uguri, and I have been watching and watching and watching yours ,so I'm saying I'm glad you decided to go ahead with your idea of your approach of doing your own particular idea of the so-called 1000 arrows a day, or as many as possible, I'd like to connect up with you if ever possible, and discuss notes, I did my math, which wasn't much, I ÷ down a 100 arrows and came up with actually 35 arrows for which was actually Close enough, cause I'm talking about actually trying to keep the shooting practice motivation going, cause by shooting 35 arrows at a given round, you can take a few minutes of break time, and go again, so my added idea would be to cross train of recurve and compound bow left/right from low poundage of bow weight back up to the 65/70 lbs ,my goal is to firm up the holding bow arm, to rebuild muscle memory and the mental sighting and aiming, most of my practice would be with a given sight system, I live up here in Indiana, I've been familiar with archery for 30 years, so I do understand the theory of lengthy hrs long practice, I just don't have a KZbin channel yet, I'd like to connect with you through email if you feel ok with that or phone number if ever, my door is open

Yeah, there's a lot opinions about how excessive archery shooters should consider getting, between what you learn about yourself from practice to practice, on daily-weekly practice, and what is your lifestyle allowing you to get done, I still prefer the idea of cross training on left/right compound/recurve at different weights and how fast can you push your process in your shooting, mind and body physical and mental conditioning

I know it’s a diff type of bow and just shooting over 18 yards. My bow a take down recurve 38lb at 28”, shooting groups of 10 arrows, at a 17” diameter target my draw length 29.5”. In one hour I will shoot 320 to 330 arrows without suffering from fatigue. I’m not some young guy I’m in my 70s. I do use elastic tubes for exercise. At 1 hour boredom sets in a coffee break of 30 mins then another hour for another 300 plus arrows erm at this point my other half will a interrupt with a job she needs doing. Ahh such is life.
