Thanks Chris for taking the time and effort to post your adventures on the Arizona Trail for all to watch..... I did the Colorado Trail last year, and have the AZT trail locked in for next year, hopefully starting 24th February.... would love to have done it this year, but all hiking plans cancelled due to the Pandemic... I found your videos so informative.... my concerns over decent quality water sources and rattlesnakes have now been eased! The one thing that I have really picked up from you, is the storms.... I’ll need to factor in a good few extra days to cover for the bad weather, as living in Australia, I really need to try and knock this off in one trip! Thanks again Andrew

Just finished binge watching your AZ trail hike! Amazing! Thank you so much for posting your videos and taking all of us along with you. I realistically will never do the hike due to health restrictions, but through the eyes of your camera and you as a guide it will be more than enough for me. I looked forward to each passage as you progressed and have nothing but admiration for you. Thanks again and look forward to any of your future journeys. God bless you.

Congratulations on finishing the AZT . Got to watch your final video today looking forward to following in your footsteps but only a passage at a time . This trail is still a work in progress as the Arizona Trail Association continues to improve upon its path by removing the trail from roadways and getting the trail and wilderness hike areas as opposed to Road hikes, we also strive to keep the trail clear of deadfall and other dangerous things signage is being improved. Thank you for sharing your wonderful experience along the trail, your videos have captured the diversity of the trail very well thank you

Thanks for letting me share in this beautiful AZT hike! Although I live in AZ I only recently learned of this trail. I’m nowhere ready for a thru-hike but you’ve inspired me nevertheless-I’m scouring my maps to see where I can drive to a trail head and do a few day hikes along this trail. After that...who knows?!
Nice job and congrats! Thanks for sharing your adventure.

As an Arizona resident, I loved watching your videos of the AZT thru hike. Congratulations! A couple of things I noticed that baffled me a bit: You weren't using trekking poles and you never wore sunglasses! Also it looked like you were wearing the same pair of shoes the entire 800 miles! How you managed not to destroy them is amazing! Care to share the brand name?
@desertdreamer4607 жыл бұрын
I'm an AZ native and noticed the same things. I can't even walk to my mailbox without sunglasses! I believe he is wearing Altra Lone Peak trail runners. I have the same shoes, and they are super comfortable, but I prefer them for trails that are less rocky since they aren't as stable as a true hiker. I'd guess since he had such a light pack, it aided in their longevity.

Hi Chris. First, well done on completing the Arizona Trail - no small feat! As info, I visited Sierra Vista, AZ when my oldest son and his family were stationed at Ft. Huachuaca. He and I hiked 3 times during our trips there. So, your first video was special to me. Questions/Comments: 1. You used an iPhone 7 Plus. How much memory does it have? Did you ever have to find a way of "offloading files" in order to shoot more footage? 2. You are a natural at narrating, filming, and editing/producing hiking videos (I've watched your series on the Arizona Trail and Florida Trail). I look forward to watching more series, 3. Since the trail is not marked like the AT and other eastern trails are, did you ever have issues with finding the route? God Bless, Ken

Loved your videos of the AZT. My AZT thru hike ended in 3/20 when the COVID-19 pandemic broke out. My friends and I hope to go back this yr to finish. As others have commented I love your upbeat view of things. Thanks again. BTW, how did you get back to civilization from the Stateline Campground?
@shawntucker76747 жыл бұрын
Congratulations on a well earned victory! I hope to follow this path Spring/Fall 2018. I've never done a thru hike, but live here in Tucson and have been practicing in the Santa Catalina's and surrounding areas. Were there any surprises you found or maybe some trail specific advice you can offer?

Chris...I have enjoyed watching your hikes. How did you get from the terminus to Vegas or back home?
@desertdreamer4607 жыл бұрын
Just finished watching your videos and loved every minute. I have hiked many of those trails as an AZ native, but would love to someday do the entire trail. Quick question; since you didn't know the exact date when you would be camping in the Grand Canyon, how did you get a permit? Maybe you don't need one for Cottonwood that early in the season? Also, just curious, what was your favorite passage? Thanks for sharing your journey and thanks for always smiling!
