Scott Galloway is extremely intelligent, but refreshingly humble and pragmatic. This guy is telling you the truth even if you don’t like it. Sometimes the truth hurts. He really gave some of the greatest advice you can have. “That things are usually not as bad as they seem.” My Dad gave me the same advice when I thought my world was falling apart. (And it wasn’t). Don’t beat yourself up so much. Do you need more than Scott Galloway to process that advice. . . .? Great Interview Chris. I hope Scott convinced you even a little bit. People are praying for you even if you don’t see it. Have some faith.

Great!Great!Episode! Two great men having a phenomenal discussion! So much discussed and covered in this episode. Being a Mom of 2 sons I agree with a lot of Scott’s analysis about boys. Also, I totally agree with Scott about you being so hard on yourself Chris, life’s too short. You do so much to help so many people and we really appreciate all you do!Thanks again for a great episode.

Chris you were my favorite CNN reporter/personality, and Smerconish is now literally, the only show I still watch on CNN. And this interview is the reason why. You talk to people from different sides, and non popular sides of the social world. Galloway is the one of the few professors/authors who are not afraid to speak about the current landscape, and how it negatively impacts young men. As a 32yr with just a bachelor's degree, no house, and making the average DC salary (I live in DC), I am not attractive to most women. Unfortunately the majority of people in this area will not find relationships, because the women are too career centric, and the men are not economically attractive enough to the women.

Chris, I have been following your podcast since you went on Bill Maher’s show and he promoted you. Great job thus far! This episode has been, by far, one of my favorites. I love Professor Galloway take on almost everything. As a woman and mother of both boys and girls, we need more good men role models. After the podcast I literally bought the Algebra of Happiness and sent my husband, dad and son a copy. Keep doing you, I love to see your growth as a human every week. Thanks for bringing such inspirational people to your podcast.

I trained recruits up in Great Lakes as an RDC, (boot camp) for 3 Years. You want to learn about the human condition? Take 88 young impressionable kids from everywhere throughout the country and put them in a compartment for 13 weeks with no phone or social media. What I found was that 40% of males didn’t even have decent hygiene skills let alone social skills to compete with in society. What made the males flourish and shine was that boot camp gave them leaders, mentors and goals to guide them. In Boot Camp, you have two types of divisions, male only, and integrated divisions, which are comprised of both males and females. In male only divisions, I observed that the males cried more often and listened less. They were more frustrated and a little less communicative about their needs. What I observed with integrated divisions was that the males became overall more motivated and efficient. There was little to no crying. (The males didn’t want the females to see them cry, duh!). The males wanted to take on more responsibility. They were more eager to show that they could be leaders. As a result, the integrated divisions often took home more competitive flags. They worked better as a team during training and inspections. What am I saying here? These young impressionable men were able to focus on very important developmental milestones; leadership, teamwork, physical fitness, and most important, socialization. They were able to create professional relationships with the prospect of them becoming personal ones later on in their careers, when appropriate. And growth was precipitated through both male and female interaction, but also through mentorship and leadership, which is difficult to find on a positive level through social media alone.

Ukraine would be winning the war more decisively if not just their men ages 18 - 60 were forced into military service but also women ages 18 - 60 were barred from fleeing and forced to fight too. I mean, women are clearly just as capable warriors as men are, right? Why could every single Ukranian woman flee the country while the men were arrested if they didn't pick up a weapon and fight? I support gender parity in all professions, women are neglected heroes.

Great guest. Been following him for a long time. No doubts he is amongst the very few ones who I respect. When SG says that America is in a very good situation in comparison to the world as of 2023 let’s say. That I totally agree. Nevertheless it doesn’t say that America is admirable for being where it is today. That I do not buy, because all is in our face. I came in the US in 1989 and I witnessed so much as an outsider trying to adjust to a new culture. Today I am very aware of the richness I gained during all those years & I would not go back « home 🇫🇷 » at least I do not believe. Because anytime I traveled & as well as in France included, America is blessed & remains to be the best place to be in my mind. Though it doesn’t mean that America could’ve done much better and still can. We tend to sleep on our laurel after a success or successes. I count on our next generation to pick up all our wrong doings & put America back on track. Yes America is the best Country to live in. Thank you Chris for bringing Scott Galloway. He is right, stop blaming yourself, himself is not as perfect as you think he is. He grew up and built his own strength, as at one point we have to stop blaming our childhood or parents.🇫🇷🇺🇸

When you speak about your Papa. Please, only remember the best moments & hold on the memories because this maladie is not something he ( Papa) wanted or expected. It is the toughest to share, care for or witness. Nobody is going to tell me about it because I know more than you can imagine. If you take a perspective on you as a little boy, today you should be so thankful for you brother Andrew who gave you what your Papa could not give you. Some fathers ( or parents) are bad Dad by wrong behaviors or not being caring & loving. It’s not your case. What hit your Dad was unwanted & if you look around what maladies or deseases are doing to people. Remember our dear loving « nightbirde » I know you were ( and we were…) very emotional about her life being taken away.. …. It is okay to be vulnerable in parallel to build strength or be strong …. If one is all strength, to me, it may be scary 🇫🇷🇺🇸 Thank you

Hello Chris I ‘m Just in the first part before his speech about making money. You asked him wHO he spent his FREE time with? He said with friends as he likes to go out (repeat it several times) and at last said to TAKE ADVANTAGE OF. That’s Enough TO ME. My grandmother came from The Spanish civil war - She was 6 then. She raised me when my mother died from cancer in 1978. She kept telling me :”No to leave food (healthy one by the way) on the plate and asked me to remembered always her without nothing or having to divide half a bread in 9 pieces as they were 9 brothers and sisters. My father, who also was not “lucky” ( they had to live in different houses as my Austrian grandpa was a socialist and usually had to leave the country…) promised her he would take her from poverty - he would not play pool or smoke as his father did with “guys in bars”’but follow a discipline life for her and his family. And He also reached to be the 0.1% non stopping improving maths - learning English was a peculiar thing to do at that time. Here arrived a magazine and friendships started by letter. He started one and we went with my grandma to her small plase -Aguilar de Campos (Valladolid - Spain) seemed an Almodóvar set where all women in black came to say hello to us and took her to her house destroyed still there as the day left Spain. That expression on her face is on my heart ❤️ for ever. Also my father. We also met the person who motivated to study English and his life could change working for 38 years from the bottom to the top, graduating at college and going to Syracuse first (still have the letters he wrote to my mother asking for everything at home, and mainly each of us and me with one year) . Then came Princeton and was chosen by USA president to became the Regional here. After my mother died he became a work alcoholic but NEVER arrived later than 7,30 - He worked even on Sunday. But he was with Us - I discovered Rapsody in Blue - Frank Sinatra -Tango music - Specially some as Piazzolla. He had a JF Kennedy at home. In our last trip together bought me at the White House / “The Presidents of USA”. He also gave me Strategy to Peace wrote by JFKennedy - Without all the precious TIME I also gave value and received as a gift I wouldn’t have been a human being who never needed Alcohol-Drugs to be myself As they tought me to have a discipline- a routine - be better for me and my beautiful Italian mother knowing she would die decided not to send me to childcare and that TIME spent together: Pure Love ❤️ helped me to raise my daughters alone. Today my big concern is without my father lost recently how I will do. But then I realized I became the three of them. When you have all those lessons inside you, plus education but first VALUES you can handle LIFE - You see, my father could have the best car, go out with women ( who came to him naturally as he was so alike Bobby Kennedy)but chose his family- he took his mother with us where she was born and everything started - first he tried the best oncologist saw my mum In Boston but arrived late. Despite so, that great woman decided not to cry, but spent with us who travelled alone to NY to have our best two months of our lives. She was like the SUN and that love - lessons and moments allowed me to move on divorced with two daughters. Money is important but is not all. Thinking so arrive to where this West is LOST- I always thought in my grandmother in Spain with no food. My father discipline and love. And the force of Nature that was that beautiful Italian mother who knew she would have to leave us but till the last minute was the most valuable diamond for her kids, & husband . Money is important but for a purpose to others you care the most and one more things not to spend it without limits but explaining the effort made and trying to full their spirits if is to give material things and period. They will spend it without giving value and no lesson would have be given---;(

I rarely stop my day to listen to pods unless I'm at the gym. But I sensed this would be impactful so I did. Some boomer observations (not accolades) from a single Mom CEO who was running a 24/7 high profile sports & entertainment business and nonetheless took in two screwed up adopted teens for YEARS who were traumatized by their adopted parents: 1) my ex-husband's nephew right out of drug rehab at 18 whose 'parents' turned him onto drugs at 11, and eight yrs later 2) my daughter's best friend at 16 who found out her father was a bigamist who had a whole different family in another state. Please don't applaud-that's not my point or desire. It was a BRUTAL journey for me with both of them while my own daughter was suffering from her father abandoning her. I don't know what I was thinking other than these kids needed SOMEONE and I was qualified to help them as my childhood was a horror show and I became very successful. My POINT is that as hard as those journey's were and as thankless and heartbreaking as it has felt, I still believe we can change the world one person at a time and we MUST TRY. When I'm not feeling unappreciated (often) I know I "saved" one (now 42, still sober, and a great Dad) and the other (now 32) has come a long way with a long way to go. So my question to Scott is...what are YOU doing to help these disenfranchised young men? You (and Chris) have the means and ability to reach out and TALK to these kids. To mentor. To transform. I ask this not to admonish, but to know if you have started or are involved in any kind of initiative to try and work this problem because if YES...I want IN. Chris-this is the first time I've tuned into your pod and it was a little depressing. You are a MAJOR talent with an intellect so sharp and a heart that beats so hard (even tho like me I give zero fucks now what others think and always have) I sincerely hope you are given the chance to have a major impact again. Scott is right. You're being too hard on yourself. The only person you really let down was you. Regret is a useless emotion I never bathe in and neither should you. It's destructive, not productive so QUIT IT. I miss you, as do millions of others. Know that and fight as hard as you can to come back. xo Bon

Brought me back, Chris. Honestly, I too easily dismissed a lot of what you're doing. I was a regular listener to your Potus show. The replacement is really... well, why be mean. But it's miles away from providing the value you delivered. I think you're too hard on Biden. I also think at times you seem a bit like a choir boy who has seen the evil in the world but still struggles to deny it. But increasingly I'm starting to see you as a Jesuit. Someone more mature about the presence of evil but also fierce about protecting the good - even amidst what seems bad. And I respect you for it. Finally, I think Scott gave you great advice on your life. But anyway, I'm back listening to you. Scott brought out the best in you and you showed real warrior spirit in the humility to listen. What a great show.

He is right. You ve been too hard on yourself. This is life. You didn’t see it. It must have been a reason otherwise you would have been there. He raised you. My oldest father’s brother raised him Working for let my father study -_\Asa result: my father felt guilty of my uncle situation all his life. Too hard on him. Both are not alive. So Scott got a point when saying it’s now. To me you are the best journalist of your generation. That is why I ma right now here. And before on CNN. It’s you not where you are. You are worthy- A great listener - analyst- thinker -reasking as fast as none saw before- This is life and we can be everywhere and see on time all that matter to us unfortunately- A family member is supposed tu stand the other ones. But you were so much exposed than a regular person. Well they are aware of that. Your wife who is manifested you love so much knows where you come from . Your children - may be the youngest but even him Nowadays have more skills because being raised by your wife and you. So breath. It’s life. You can not see everything all the time. No one can - You became stronger and your family moved on. -/

The United States is very difficult for boys! It's one thing to exempt women from criminal law (e.g. New York). It's another situation when SOCIETY comes aware of it. I would say it is NONSENSICAL & UNCONSTITUTIONAL to do so. It was not done to HELP WOMEN. The US has conditioned & bred a significant portion of society who are SOCIOPATHS NOT BOUNDED by the Constitution and EXEMPT from the law. Women who are in position of power UNBOUNDED, ABUSIVE, WITH A PROPENSITY TO VIOLATE THE LAW with NO ACCOUNTABILITY! TO THE DETRIMENT OF US ALL!!!! WHY are we listening, following, being defined by a group of SOCIOPATHS that are ABOVE THE LAW. Being 'HELD ACCOUNTABLE' by People who are not CULPABLE & LIABLE to the same legal or moral standard IS NOT DEMOCRACY! IT IS JUST A LIE....

Chris: Tone down the tough guy routine. It's not age appropriate. Many I know find you talented but are grossed out by an "old" man sounding like a teenager.

not sure what you mean - I've rarely (never?) seen a guy be SO open about his struggles as Chris was in this conversation

@@bcssylf Don't agree. He comes off as insecure hence putting on a "hyper-masculine" tough and rough guy image. Barely one's soul as you call it in this day and age is no longer a masculine or feminine trait although it was once viewed that way. Even his brother Andrew noted Chris acts life a tough guy on screen but is a softy in real life or words to that effect. Hence even Andrew noticed what I do. In addition, I repeat, I have no problem with this persona per se but it is inappropriate and almost grotesque on a man his age and even worse for a father which Chris is.

@@mileshalpern9320 your a real snowflake if you think anything he does is either: A. some kind of act, or B. is in any way trying to portray a “tough guy” (whatever that means) the guy is as genuine as they come.
