ChrisDowa 100% Blackout Window Roller Shade Review

This window shade from ChrisDowa is made from a 100% blackout material, which means no light can leak through it. All mounting hardware is included. This is a roller shade, which means it is not spring-loaded. There is a ball chain that you pull in one direction or the other to make the shade go up and down.
I installed this on my office window, which faces west. On sunny days, it's near impossible to read my computer screen when the sun sets. I've always had the struggle of trying to read what's there or holding my arm up to shade some light so I can read, but no more. This shade is used every sunny day that I'm at the computer when the sun is setting. It works perfectly for my needs, and I'm sure will do the trick for yours.

You left off the whole middle of the install, once you put the two brackets on the side how did you get the other parts installed?? the part with the chain and the two round circles

The part with the chain fits inside the shade and forms one end. The other end has a pin that is spring loaded. The bracket with the metal tab that sticks out gets the roller part, and you cantilever the other end in, depress the pin to get it past the edge and it snaps into place. That is the easiest part of the installation.

How the heck does the bracket match up with the chain sprocket? I have the same kit and this doesn't make sense, and you kinda skip over that part in the video

It's actually shown if you watch carefully. There are 2 end brackets. One has a hole in the center, the other has a piece of metal bent out. The bent out piece of metal fits into the chain sprocket on the outside, then the sprocket assembly which goes into the shade. The other bracket, with the hole, accepts the spring-loaded pin. Remember also, this is a review video of the product, not a how-to installation guide. If it were that, the title would have reflected as such.

Hi! I pulled on the chain too hard and it broke out of the roller clutch. Is there a way to disassemble and put it back in?

As long as no parts are physically damaged, I can tell you this: It went together somehow, so it must come apart. Therefore it can be fixed.

Any advice on how to uninstall? The chain sprocket has started acting up and I want to take it down and look at it. The company sells replacement parts, but they don’t do me any good if I can’t remove the shade. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Haven't needed to take mine down. There are a couple of plans of attack. If it's at all possible to sneak a screwdriver in there and remove the mounting screws, that would be the easiest way. If not, next plan of attack would be a small flat blade screwdriver at the end opposite from the chain. The idea is to get in there, and with some force, press into the spring-loaded rod and push it back into the shade. If that fails, I'd get a bit more brutal, and bend out the end opposite of the chain as far as possible. Push the entire shade into that, and bend out the bracket that secures the chain. You should be able to bend the brackets back into shape after that. Or, see if you can contact the manufacturer, perhaps they have a method I haven't thought of.

we received one of these that had been damaged in shipping and the bracket on the chain side is missing. Do you know where I can order that one part?

The product is still sold on Amazon. You can try contacting the manufacturer but I have a sneaking suspicion they won't have spare parts available.

Indeed it does. The A/C works overtime from about 4-8PM, running pretty much non-stop. That setting sun is still quite hot.

It absolutely is 100%. The material is. It is impossible to block all light from the window unless the material was glued down to the window frame, but then it wouldn't be a shade.
