The rig looks amazing - I think the operation of this camera works a lot better with a setup like this - basically similar to how I rig my Komodo.

Thank you for checking it out! I’ve used once so far on a shoot and it was night and day! I’ve been wanting to do a setup like this for months but thought it was a dumb idea because I hadn’t seen online anyone else try this configuration. Having used it now, I wish I would have done it months ago lol it’s makes using the Bs1h fun, just like my s1h!

Love that rig, love that camera. Now you’ve convinced me, I’m doing a BS1H kit video.

Can’t wait to check it out when it’s done ✅

cool video... maybe when the new BS1H come out they will solve that problem were you won't need two monitors.

Great product for sure and essential to this build. Looking to add a second one for my other rigs. Thanks for watching!

excellent setup, I think it would help if you added lens support for such a small camera

The BS1H is such a great system, the two monitors are interesting strategy to keep menus hidden and record onto the external monitor... However, the thing I don't love is not having XLR inputs with the camera, would love to see how folks are rigging a Zoom F3 or recorder onto the rig and feeding into the aux back to camera.

So you can rig the f3 or to the back of a top handle. The issue I ran into is that it needs to be powered by a different power source other than the vmount powering the camera because when connecting the audio into the camera there’s a ground noise that’s only solved by using a separate power source. Personally I don’t like using aa batteries so I used a battery bank and it was pretty easy to rig. I sold the bs1h and replaced it with an eva1. And I don’t even use the xlr lol I use it for on cam audio but use a f3 for external audio.

Needed this video bro. Thank you!

No problem man. Recently I’ve been using 1 screen with the atomos button recommendations but 2 screens is sooooo much better!

That’s good bro! It’s also good to know that both the sdi port and hdmi port can work at the same time. I thought it was just use one or the other.

Nice rig, bro! The rig is only supposed to be convenient for you. I can see your level has raised considerably just by looking at your rig and why it is configured the way it is. Great id!

Thanks for checking out my video my guy! Yes! For awhile I was nervous setting up this cam in the configuration because I hadn’t seen anyone use this setup. But as I keep learning and growing, I’ve seen some crazy looking setups out there in the pro world. So yeah, this rig makes the Bs1h fun to use lol hope to shoot something together soon!

Do you have any issues with the D Tap to BS1H dc barrel? I bought the cable for the FS5 because I saw that it was pretty much the same. It worked at first but now the camera won’t power on at all even though my V mount is fully charged. Just wondering if you’ve run into a similar issue with that cable. It works fine when connected with the AC adapter.
@ChrisFlores22 Жыл бұрын
No powering issues ever. Of course my cable came with the vmount plate from wooden camera. I haven’t been able to find a cable since but I’ve been running it for a year and never had any issues. I have a spare vbr battery in my bag in case but not once have I ever used it because of power issue. Maybe reach out to wooden camera and see if they sell the came by itself? Thanks for watching! Btw I have a new more streamlined rig so I’ll be updating this video soon lol

Thanks for the video. Do you think it would work if I used the same set up as yours, but used a cheaper monitor, let's say PortKeys PT5 II 5inch, instead of Shinobi? If so, did I still need to add the SDI adapter? Thanks
@ChrisFlores227 ай бұрын
I’m sure it would work. I ended up selling my bs1h and picked up an eva1 instead. I also picked up a port keys bm5iii so maybe one day I’ll get a bs1h again and test it out since the port keys offers camera control over usbc

This may be a stupid question but can you still use focus peaking through HDMI feed or will it record that as well?
@ChrisFlores2210 ай бұрын
It’s too weak over hdmi so you’ll need to turn it off since yes it will record. Your monitor peaking will peak everything including screen and menu settings
