I am a cradle Catholic. I have prayed the Lord's Prayer many times. But now I have a question on a certain part of the pray.... As it states "and lead us not into temptation" God doesn't lead us to temptation....what is meant by that section? But when you say it in Spanish it translate to "don't let me fall into temptation" help me figure it out. I also heard they were going to replace that part, is that true or am I missing the point...God bless you all.

This can't apply to God's Word because His Word is not "Vain." Also, the " Heathen" or "Gentiles" would not be praying, seeking, or asking the One True God for anything because they did not know Him, and they certainly couldn't be quoting Scriptures they did not know. Therefore, any vain or redundant words they were speaking would be useless to bring effective change, especially when it meant nothing more than a mantra to them. The English Standard Version (ESV) says, "and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors". The Good News Translation (GNT) says, "Forgive us the wrongs we have done, as we forgive the wrongs that others have done to us." The Bible you are reading says trespasses and trespassers?
