Absolutely fantastic! A couple of years ago, I bought a brush/style set that replicated mosaic tiles, but this gives me freedom in ways the brush/style set lacked. Thank you for another outstanding lesson.

Chris, did not understand very first part of tutorial . . . what brush is missing in AD? Souns like two vector?
@2dgameartguru8 ай бұрын
Pardon my poor English [German native] - a true vector brush is missing. The textured brushes in AD are PNG images scattered or stretched along a vector line but not a vector shape scattered or stretched along a vector line. The latter could be worked on and altered when converted to a curve while a PNG image is just that an image. It causes issues with the quality while scaling or when exporting for e.g. cutting and lasering. Inkscape offers the Pattern along Path option. It allows the creation of a vector pattern [as one single curve] that is repeated or stretched along a vector path. The result is a vector shape that can be edited with the node tool, added to or subtracted from with Boolean operations, and scaled without a loss in quality.

@@2dgameartguru Thanks for clarification, Chris. There's absolutely nothing poor about your English - if only my German were as good! I would say it has more to do with my hearing. An excellent tutorial. I'm thinking of creating a Renaissance pattern after being motivated by your work.
