Captain Harry Kim would command the USS Rhode Island, a _Nova-class_ Science Vessel. 2. *_Humble(r), but still Noble_** ~* On the other hand, the counter-argument being that not everyone in Starfleet seeks out a Command position either. Tendi's ambition(s) could have easily been humbler, to become a Chief Science Officer (Lieutenant to full-Commander rank), which in itself is a noble goal as well. Tendi's ambition for Captain-rank means Tendi must eventually leave behind the Sciences-blue to walk the path of the Tactical-red of Command. 3. *_Good Foundations_** ~* Even so, having a Sciences-blue background can help a lot as a Captain. The foremost example being Captain Kathryn Janeway (Kate Mulgrew). In her younger days, Lieutenant Commander Janeway was Chief Science Officer serving under (back then) Captain Owen Paris (Tom Paris' father, later full-Admiral Owen Paris), before Janeway crossed over to the Tactical-red path of Command, to follow in the footsteps of her late father (Vice Admiral Edward Janeway). But Janeway's Sciences-blue skills would serve her well in bringing the USS Voyager home from their 'Odyssey'-journey across the Delta Quadrant.

Based on location, they’re either at Mrs Macquarie’s Chair, or the next bay over at Garden Island. The “aquarium” is the art gallery of New South Wales, and you can’t see the bridge from there (although it’s quite close.) There’s a great pie and hot dog stand if they’re at Garden Island.

Everything except Tendi and Rutherford, this was a Boimler holodeck program but he bailed out and Tendi continued the story. I love how enthousiastic she is about it lol.

Most of the episode is a holodeck movie. Boimler wrote and was _supposed_ to be starring in it, but he started going through some real-life stuff a couple minutes in and started improvising a new storyline in an attempt to work through it. Mariner stuck with him out of concern and he let Tendi and Rutherford take over the original scripted storyline, with Tendi's character becoming the ship's Acting Captain.

I give this a thumbs down. The 80s tv and movie trope about punks being street thugs was an absurd Hollywood invention. Actual punks were nerds and art school drop outs who figured out how to be “cool” without being “cool.” They were never part of any gangs. Hollywood made punk into the “criminal du jour” simply because of their wild looks. Star Trek should have avoided the trope and included some real gang types.
