I have a 2022 N1K SX, how did the tune change the performance of the bike specifically. The hp gain isn't very big. I'm interested to hear how the decel mod works on your bike, mine has a noticeable jerk on deceleration. All and all I really like the way my Ninja delivers power on the road, very manageable for how I use it (lots of commuting and weekend 2-300 mile rides). Anyways I was debating whether or not the tune was worth it for how I ride. Cheers

@@ehiggins7476 The tune completely changed the character of the revs and power. Power happens everywhere vs at high rpm the power fell off a cliff. No more, you get power all the way to redline. The bike just simply has better power delivery all through the rev range. Hard to describe but wonderful….

Having ridden both the gsxs1000 and the ninja 1000sx (both tuned).. hands down the ninja is a better setup and better overall performer. Yeah the gsxs1000 has a little more peak power up top BUT you need to look at the over all picture. The ninja has more torque and horsepower from the start of its rev range to its peak power. Having dragged both bikes the ninja takes off quicker and maintains a good position. At top end theres really not that much difference as they both perform well. Also for the mountain riders out their, the ninja is far superior, better brake feel, torquier and much better suspension especially going over bumpy surface. Im not saying the gsxs1000 is rubbish but in comparison ninja is more refined. Peak power isnt everything, its how its delivered

The type of exhaust systems has alot to do with the power curves and where their making their power. Both are great bikes and make plenty of street power. Most people want utilize power of either. The GSX-S1000 is quite a bit lighter (better power to weight ratio). It's really according to what your type riding you do as to which bike works better for you. I have ridden the GSX-S1000 in the mountains. It handled unbelievably well and can't imagine needing or using anymore power on the road. I was riding with my friends we all been riding Supersport for 20 plus years. Each of us took our turn on my buddies new 2022 GSX-S1000 and where quite impressed in the twisties. For me it be the GSX-S1000 for my aggressive riding style. I loved the straight up sitting position. After all day with it I got used to the looks. It actually looks awesome from the side view. I believe I'm going sale my gsxr 750. My aging body fell in love with the comfort losing very little in handling departments in the twisties.

To answer your question, I rode the GSXS 1000 before buying the N1K, and the Kawasaki feels faster in everyday riding. The fatter torque curve makes shifting to pass optional, and ridden in isolation I do not feel like the N1K is lacking much on the top end, but I'm shifting at 10k during a hard pull. I did not take the GSXS to redline, but the relative weakness down low was enough that my test ride was over 5 minutes in. N1K all the way. Also, the N1K is seriously more comfortable for my 6'1" 230lb self.

Back in 2011 when Kawasaki first released this bike, it was then called Ninja1000. Insurance companies couldn't figure out what it was for years. Anyway, originally after a ECU flash, exhaust, filter and tune it made 146 hp and 85 ft-lb at Ivan's Performance Products dyno. It also weighed less. Fast forward 11 years, it now weighs exactly 10 pounds more and makes 10 less horsepower and 6 less ft-lb torque. I mean, let's just celebrate the progress we've made on this model. And Suzuki, you used to make north of 150 wheel HP and more than 80 ft-lb. Now you make less power. That's also a progress. Yay. And just FYI, I'm not talking about a few horsepower difference between one dyno and the next, I've compared at least a dozen graphs of both models over the years because these kinds of bikes are my jam. They are comfortable sportsbikes that can tour.

The power curves on these bikes reflect the character of each when you ride them. The SX has more torque, but needs it as it's all around more doughy (214 wet vs 235 wet) and generally softer to ride. The power curve of the suzuki reflects a more focused, sharper bike, which the GSX is.

Outside of my current FJR, the N1K & GSX1000GT are two of my favorite currently available bikes. I'd love one or the other in my garage. Both great bikes, for sure. I previously owned a modded '11 N1K and it was a fantastic bike for a solo rider, not so much 2 up, ergo the FJR in my garage now. The latter is also a fantastic bike, just 150 lbs too heavy. But for longer rides or two up? Hands down the winner. Given my druthers, I prefer lower end power so the N1K for the win but I could easily 'settle' for the GSX too! Not the M4 muffler, tho- too loud. I prefer the quietude of the OE exhaust. The M4 is obnoxious.

With standard tune, it wasn't pleasant on or off throttle. I prefer power top end and grunt low down. City riding is pleasant, it's 1000cc and light so the torque difference isn't really an issue until you start wide open pulls on dual carriageways which tends to be high revs. I need to ride a Saki again. Would a different muffler or with baffle removed out of the Kawasaki make any difference in top end HP ? Seems if the baffle has a little more back pressure so I'm thinking would that increase torque and low rpm HP but sacrifice top end HP . So I'm wondering with baffle out would you loose some torque and in low RPM but gain HP at top ?I'm also wondering if a different air filter could be used or a air box mod could be used to gain an edge and push that Kawasaki numbers up . Or is it just the cam profile?

I have a 2011 sx1000 with same pipe and a power commander with a Ivan's tune. I'd kinda like to get rid of power commander and go with a flash. Can you do that and do you think power gains could be had,?

Thinking about getting the 2024 Kawasaki Ninja 1000SX. Do I have to dyno it to tune it or, can someone like you send me a tune that's already been setup? Plug and play I'd love to do if that's even an option unless all of these "restrictions" are made/setup different. Please let me know for education purposes please.

Another interesting vid !! Finessing already very healthy motors to realise all the 'locked in' potential. Both great bikes...toss a coin!

Man that exhaust on the GSX-S love the rumble/growling in the lower rpms and nice screaming sound in the top as well :-D I'm actually contemplating getting the 1000 GSXS 2023 and if that is the case I will be aiming for that M4 exhaust unfortunately bikes are insanely expensive here in Denmark so Financing is a must, for comparison a bone stock GSXS 1000 2023 rolled out of the store costs almost 21K dollars in danish currency ofc. 😲

I always wanted an exhaust on my street triple 675 but in the end I never committed because I liked being able to always ride it hard without everyone else noticing. I feel like maybe if you have a show bike you only ride on a Sunday after lunch during good weather for an hour then it'd be epic. For regular riding/commuting I'm not so sure it's the best idea.
