I met Ernie at a comic con. My daughter and son wanted to go. Saw Ernie and got to talking. I asked him about Eddie Murphy being slotted to play Winston, we talked about the show OZ, and his son (who played with him in OZ.) He took a picture with me and my son. Helluva nice guy.

Multiple references to AVGN and even an inspiration credit? 2020 truly is the strangest year. I remember being in middle school and trashing Chris for ripping off AVGN and what not, but ironically I discovered Chris first. Boy, I was a dumb kid. This is the issue I have with people saying Irate Gamer is just a rip off of AVGN. Look at this (made up) example. Hey man your videos are just copying someone else. You are a copycat. Rip off copy. come up with something original. being unique is easy, stop copying people. copycat. not original. just copying. Do these people not see how stupid they look? They claim someone is copying someone else, but would you say Person 2,3,4,5,6,7,8 are just COPYING the comments of Person 1? Do they honestly think that AVGN was the first person to make a video complaining about something? Even if he was, does that mean that nobody else is allowed to make a video complaining? Is every musician required to make music that is a completely new genre so that they aren't "copying" the first guy that made music in the genre? What gets me, is that the claim is meaningless, but people act like it has meaning. Nothing is ever completely new, everything is simply a modification of something that someone else already did. Should all the companies that sell things that make fires, be demonized because some caveman millions of years ago invented how to make fire, so all those companies are ripping off that caveman? How about bottled water, are all companies selling bottled water, copying the first company that put water in a container and sold it? Does it even matter? It's... just... so... stupid...

Honestly, if it wasn't for Mike Matai, we could easily see an Irate Gamers & AVGN crossover.. He did it with Pat The NES Punk & Nostalgia Critic.. My favorite youtube content was alternating between you and the avgn. To this day I still alternate between the playlists and enjoy the retro content you both produced. I gotta admit seeing myself show up here was the LAST thing I'd have ever expected, let alone all those faces, but it did make me laugh. Then I looked at the photo you used and laughed even harder, I laughed even harder at the damn thing. Listen Chris, in the past I talked A LOT of shit concerning your vids(and in reality, who the hell was I to talk about someone else), but the reality is- you knew what the hell you were doing, and even I can accept that while somewhat campy and corny your work isn't half bad on a whole. What I recommend, is you do your own thing, and forget about trying to do this on screen skit crap that honestly? It wore out it's welcome ages ago. Most people tolerate it, simply to get to the good stuff, and that's a knowledge and interesting things to say about the game/media in question. You clearly came back with the ability to take the piss out of not only the game, retro nostalgia, and yourself no less, so yeah- Just be you, and good luck man.
