@martinryan81014 жыл бұрын
Rules? Really
@solidcold94914 жыл бұрын
@@martinryan8101 not set in stone law of the land, but good technique for searching waters for pike at this time of year. When its cold they lay on the bottom, so you need to 'wake it up' by causing some commotion, then you want it investigating so you bring the lure through again, finally bring it though again so it hopefully locks on its target and goes in for the kill. Combine this with 'fan casting' (search it) and you can quickly section off a lot of water and be fairly confident theres no pike up for being caught in that area.
@martinryan81014 жыл бұрын

@@garyhall4542 - fishing pollock or coalies off the rocks I’d agree with you 100% but I’ve never foul hooked a pike whilst lure fishing. Hook up rate far better with trebles on lures. Big caveat though, you should always carry long pliers and wire cutters just in case. Whichever hooks you use.

@@leftmono1016 I have foul hooked and seen many foul hooked fish including many pike on trebles, or being rehooked whilst it thrashes around. In my opinion they should be banned. More than a few times I've noticed I can't see where your lures break water when you cast. Also when you use your net to bring the fish in, most of the time the camera is aimed directly at your feet. So, I'm thinking your visual angle needs to be higher than it currently is so we can see ALL the action and excitement that you're experiencing. ESPECIALLY because you do a LOT of pike fishing, I want to see EVERYTHING!!!! It brings back my one memory catching a pike!!!! HAAAAAAA HAHAHAHA!!!! I LOVE IT!!!!
