Let me know if you guys picked one of these unique chainsaws up and how well it worked for you. Also, do you have the extension handle? Comment below! *ALSO! I do fully understand the difference between volts and amp hours. The 4ah batt shouldn't have more power than the 2ah batt but it clearly does and you can see and hear it in this video. I purchased the 4ah battery after so many of you recommended it after my PowerShot video and claimed the same thing so I went in thinking it would have more power as well as lasting longer , and it did!
@donsmith73545 жыл бұрын
AH = Continuous Amp draw per hour. Unit draws 5amps. Continuous operation 2AH would be 2/5 of an hour. 4AH would be 4/5 of an hour. not necessarily more power will last twice as long.

Not sue but I may have commented on this before.. My husband passed away and the trimming of the shrubbery around my yard now falls to me. I have used it, but do not like to use his regular chainsaw on this smaller sized stuff as its bad to grab and kick with smaller branches. I got this thing last summer though and it does everything I need to do with no fear of it kicking back on me, or grabbing a branch/limb and smacking me with it. I can now trim my own shrubbery, and feel safe in doing so

2Ah battery stands for 2 Amp-hours meaning it will deliver 2 amps of current for 1 hour or 1 ampere of current for 2 hours etc. Amp-hours time the voltage (20V in this case) is a rating of the total energy capacity of a battery, and does not affect the amount of power. A 4 Ah battery will just last twice as long but not cut with more power. The actual amps drawn depends on the motor design and is not in your control. As noted by another comment, the output power is determined by the voltage and is fixed by motor design. You can't use a higher voltage battery to get more power because 1) they don't make one that fits, 2) it would burn out the unit since it was designed for 20 V. The 4 Ah battery has about twice the weight since it holds twice the energy, like having a bigger gas tank on a car--same power, longer driving range. As to your comment that the 4 Ah battery seems more powerful, there may be two reasons. 1) Putting on a fresh 4 Ah battery may give slightly more power compared to a half empty 2 Ah battery that has just been removed. 2) The larger battery may have lower internal resistance. All batteries suffer a voltage drop internally when you draw significant current, meaning you get slightly less than the full 20 volts. Lower internal resistance typical in larger batteries means it can maintain closer to the full 20 volts when running that same current output.

This thing kicks ass. I'm a 115 pound, 55 year-old woman that does all the landscape maintenance on one acre in So Cal, and this little gem has cut my work in half (no pun intended, but what the hell). Soooooooo much faster, more efficient, and easier to bust out than the chain saw. Did all the brushing work on a 50 foot pine that fell over, untold amounts of pruning over the years, and just a half hour ago it assisted me in murdering and dismembering a horrible "Tree of Heaven" (Ailanthus altissima) - one of the most selfish and invasive trees ever to land around here (cutting's not enough, btw...need stump killer stuff too). Anyhoo. Hungry little beast of a landscape tool that is ultra safe to use, especially nice when my arms start to feel like cooked noodles after hours of work, and my tired brain gets prone to mistakes...love it. Can't take care of the acre without it.

Dude, I appreciate your video, and it confirms for me that I'm going to buy one. Not trying to be critical, but hoping to protect your credibility, it's a 2Ah or 4Ah battery. Both are rated for the same amperage output, the 4Ah battery has twice as many batteries, and should last twice as long.
@ChrispyThings6 жыл бұрын
Shane Hayes Right. I did correct myself later in the video. For some reason I had 5 amp battery in my head after working with Dewalt tools earlier. And the 4 amp batt definitely had more power than the 2.
@ChrispyThings6 жыл бұрын
I understand what you’re saying that the 4 amped shouldn’t have more power. But it definitely did. I also used it with the Worx Powershot with similar results.
@Pro1er6 жыл бұрын
The reason the 4Ah seems to have more power is because when the tool's motor is under load it is drawing current which lowers the battery's voltage - more voltage, more RPM. The higher capacity 4Ah battery can supply more current than the 2Ah so the voltage drop is not as much allowing the tool's motor to run faster. If the Jawsaw's current drain was 100mA, you would not notice a difference in battery performance other than run-time .

Have had mine since its inception. It also came with an extension pole for higher cuts. This guy made it look hard and time consuming. I'm still trying to figure out why he was chopping tiny pieces at a time for the ground break down. (Actually, that's my favorite part. I just walk the length of the downed branch, quickly cutting off side branches first, then turn around, walk back, chopping up main branch. Bundle the side branches and chop away.) I'm a 65 year old female, I will tell you this makes cutting faster plus cleanup is sweet. This video could have taken 1/2 the time. Coincidentally I will be using mine today to clear back the overflow from neighbors unattended whatever it is. Try it, have fun!!
