Any chance we can buy these ourselves? Like just a module or two or something like that... for experimenters. I'd even be fine with assembling one myself. Also, it'd be fun to have a flip-display with all of the options for a 7-segment display... kind of a mixed-up technology kind of thing. ;D

Thought it was going to be some kind of card shuffling technique from the title... had to set my phone down after tapping the notification, and the first few seconds didn't sound like it *wasn't*... and then - At thirty-one - Today years old - I FINALLY KNOW WHAT THIS KIND OF DISPLAY BOARD IS CALLED. Thank you! Seriously though, I showed up here for the puzzle solving vids, but I subscribed for that earnest isn't-the-world-just-AWESOME?! attitude you've got.

When I was a teenager I found an old split flap clock radio in the trash and I had to take it home. This would have been around 1985 or so, and it was old even by then. The radio worked, but the clock wouldn't go. I pulled the back off of it and looked inside. There was a metal "wheel" about half and inch wide sitting next to the clock numbers mechanism and myh instinct was to just give it a flick with my finger. I did that, and the clock started working, and it worked for at least the next several years without stopping. I left for the Air Force a couple years later and it stayed at my parents' place. Don't know what ever happened to it, but I wish I still had it. It was very satisfying to watch.

In old Gimpo airport in the 90s when I traveled with my parents, I would sit, mesmerized by a giant arrivals board as it goes clackity clack as it updates flight statuses and wait for that rush of clacks as it clears flight statues that aren’t relevant anymore and shift all the entries up to make room for more flights.
