This is sweet! "Learning Monday" is awesome. All you need for this is 4 cards and good handling.

Nice video. I am a few years older than you guys. I learned the Elmsley count 55 years ago when I was 16. There was an added move. When you took the 2nd and 3rd card together, you actually moved your hands in opposite directions. It was supposed to make the move a bit harder to detect. In actuality, it just made the entire thing look suspicious. But after mastering the Elmsley count, the progression began with counting 5 cards as 4, then 6 as 4, 7 as 4 (this was practice), all the way to counting 15 cards as 4. This was done with the magi on stage at least 10 feet from the spectators. The procedure was thus: you counted 4 cards, threw one away (it would flutter to the floor), and then counted 4 more cards. You threw one away, and counted again, showing you still had 4 cards in your hand. You did this until you had only 4 cards (for real) left in your hand. For a 16 year old boy doing card tricks, this looked really impressive and never failed to get oohs and aahs from the spectators. This "newer" method is easier, impossible to catch if it is done well, and is a great addition to many tricks, always keeping the spectators guessing.

This is one of my weaknesses I can't nail it. I've had to substitute for other counts. But I feel that as long as at the end of your performance the audience is amazed, it doesn't matter how you get there.
