I love when things like this happen! So many iconic instruments become "investments" or "collectables" for super wealthy businessman or owners of sports teams. But when Clarence White's guitar got given to Marty Stuart, or Greeny, Peter Green's Les Paul got bought by Kirk Hammett of Metallica, and now Keith having Waylon's guitar, it makes you feel good that the right owners have these instruments. They will be cared for, treasured, played lovingly, and loaned out for exhibits, not kept away in vaults.

Keith is an amazing guitar player. He is not hyped like a lot of other players, but this guy is damn good 👍

I honest to God almost bought one of the Waylon Tele/esquire guitars years ago for only $15,000 but I’d just bought a truck the day before for the same price before I found out about it. I tried to take it back in Maryville,Tn they had none of it. I sold a Rolex GMT, VOX JMI AC30,& numerous other things, and I just couldn’t get the cash. The family held it for a week for me in Arizona I think it was. I had seen the ad in the large format of vintage guitar magazine. I was depressed for years over this. That’s the closest I ever came to it.

1950 it’s probably a pine body. If so, yeah they’re pretty heavy,back aching heavy. I have a pine body.

Bit of trivia: Waylon was supposed to be on the plane with Buddy Holly, but gave up his seat to Richie Valens, because Richie was suffering from a bad cold and the tour bus wasn’t heated.
