Chrissie, how can you say, as you sometimes do, that you are not a songwriter? There's so much poetry and song running through you that even if you really put your foot down, and committed yourself to becoming a certified public accountant, you would end up writing great songs. So: Just accept reality: You are a songwriter, and one of the best ones living today. :)

Oh, I've been a big Chrissie fan since I first heard her in the '80s I think it was. In that song,, "Brass in Pocket," she was representing all the women who, although they might not be the most beautiful, still had a lot going on inside of them and guys should check girls like that out. I took her advice and explored some beautiful people during those years. I didn't know she was from near me in Ohio and went to Kent State University in 1970 when the National Guard opened fire on us killing 4 people. My roommate's girlfriend, Allison Krause, was one of those shot. Anyhow, what I mean is that if she came out of it like I did we were all totally traumatized. It was depressing. I can hear a little of that in, "Hey, Ho, Way to Go Ohio."

It is so unfortunately - and painfully - obvious that she does not interview well. I think its because she's a very quiet person, normally. And internalizes a lot of her pain and sadness. I think your stories are some of the best Chrissie and thanks for the excellent music and memories. AND... whenever I think of the Pretenders and their excellent first album, I think of the way she sings (and breathes) TATTOOED LOVE BOYS!! I'm willing to bet that's one of her favorite ROCK tracks she talks about in this interview.😁

She is a contradication in many ways. Tough as they come, , but compassion is her middle name. Rarely does she ask or want the limelight, but almost grudgely gets on stage so she can finance one of her passions which is singing. She apoears so open and discusses things I wouldnt in public, yet very very few know who she is privatly. She tells in a interview that she is a lifetime vegatarian because she believes that there isnt enough mercy, and if she was defenseless(not her exact words, but close, and she a long with millions of others has been defenseless) like factory farm animals are , she'd want mercy. She is incrediable and Rare because she who may have asked for mercy in her life, still gives mercy to animals who cannot defend themselves. Respect. Oh I like her music as well.

When I was young, I didn't think Chrissie was very attractive. I loved her voice and her music but didn't think she was a good looking woman. But as I've gotten older, man I was wrong. I look back at her early videos and I'm like...ugh, wow. She's not pretty, she's beautiful. She's a full throttle heart stopping kind of lady. She's what would be described as "a keeper" because she's beautiful both in and out. She's got a brain and that's the most attractive quality in a woman. But don't get me wrong (no pun), she's a classic brunette knockout.

I always thought she was cool..liked her look and voice.. and what I know of her music. She's very uncompromising, and that's great. It's just a shame that she isn't grateful or appreciative of her fans. No, she never catered to celebrity. She could care less about being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.. and she doesn't even consider herself a musician or songwriter. She just sees everything as doing what she loves. That's fine.. but she gets to tour the world, live in England and have a residence in her hometown, and I'm sure she's not hurting for money. And she has the people who buy her music and support her to thank for that.. but she just yells at people to not bother her, like the guy in Australia who wanted her autograph. She also has disdain for anyone who eats meat, as she's a vegetarian. But she wasn't always a vegetarian, so that's hypocritical. Worse, she owns a "cruelty-free" dairy farm.🤷♀️🤦♀️ Sorry, you can justify it all you want, but enslavement is still enslavement. Why not just admit that you can't give up milk?🙄 So Chrissy, I still think you're cool, but given what I've read and seen in your interviews, I'd have to agree with your self-assessment that you're not a very nice person.😔💔

Chrissie is on her best behavior here. Normally, whether it is fans, boyfriends, husbands or musicians, she is known for outbursts of hostility. She doesn't get along well with people. But she has paid the price for hostilities towards fans: reduced popularity. After an outburst towards fans at a concert in Dubai (where she left the stage after 3 songs and never returned), She said "I Should have been nicer about it, but I wasn't and I'm not. I'm the citizen god intended me to be.". She inspires little sympathy. If she's so uncomfortable with being a celebrity, then she could always retire and disappear into suburban obscurity, just like Doug Ingle, Mike Pinder, Bobbie Gentry or Kate Bush. She's not a starving artist anymore. She made truckloads of money selling off her song publishing to Hipgnosis Song Fund.

I don't like reading tell all books, but I'd be interested in her story. I loved it when she said, "fuck them" to the people that were opposed to her own personal story of being raped. She is an inspiring woman to stand your ground in today's extreme left and right politically correct society. I lost respect for a few musians and bands for caving to the insanity of woke ideology. Chrissie thinks for herself!
