Hi, it was me who suggested the handcream and glue but I've never mixed black with silver before and it made for a fantastic metal colour.I always use my finger to apply it as much cleaner in long run than a tool, you can apply less and it easily wipes off your finger.Less is more a bit like gilding wax itself .I tend to use up my very cheap mica powders and save my more expensive Lucious powders and mica powders work just as well. I love your card beautiful as always and thankyou so much for teaching me about how you add dimension, stacking and snipping the die cuts makes a huge difference I've now found x

I hear a lot of differences in words from the various British KZbinrs. I just love the accent and your voice in particular is so beautiful and appealing. You just sound so sweet, I wish I could meet you and have dinner or Supper as we say in the South. Some of the words I’ve noticed are: Right-OK (as a bridge to the next thought) Flat-Apartment Crisps-Chips Biscuit-Cookie Shops-Stores Uni-College Dustbin or Bin-Trashcan or Garbage Can Post-Mail Trousers-Pants Trolly-Cart or in the South, /Buggy (shopping) Trainers-Sneakers or Tennis Shoes (pronounced TennieShoes in the South) Boot-Trunk (car) Centralize it-Center it Holiday-Vacation Love your videos so much and I have to Re-Subscribe regularly. I try to keep an eye on it. I don’t know why they do that. Love from Murfreesboro, right outside of Nashville, Tennessee

Thank you so much. When I was in school I was once awarded the Drama prize for my performance in The Merchant of Venice. The newspaper review of the play described me as having "...a sound expressive voice" it's something I've never forgotten although if was 60 years ago. I could give you a few more US UK translations ... faucet - tap, skillet - frying pan, fries - chips, vacation - holiday, gas - petrol, I could go on... I lived in Va for a few years, many moons ago!

Long time viewer here from the US, as I developed bad tremors 15 or so years ago now. At any rate, as this is - apparently - a progressive neurological disorder, my doctors are on my case constantly to use my hands every day in creative pursuits so as to preserve whatever function I have left. Card making is one of my hobbies, as I can incorporate drawing, painting and so many other things into it. Yet ideas seem to abound the world over on ways to make your own finishing supplies for things like gilding wax, raised drops, and the like. One of my favorites combines the gel-type Aileen's Tacky glue, and the really cheap dollar store eye shadows sold in loose powder form in a tiny pot.

This turned out so well! Beautiful card. I enjoyed your talking about language and how those of us in different places speak differently. I live in the US, in Texas. Years ago my husband was working with several fellows from Scotland. We were all at a party and the Scots were telling stories, even though they were speaking English we couldn’t understand a thing they said! More recently we were lucky enough to visit Australia and we had a discussion with several locals about how different our versions of English are, quite an interesting topic of conversation! I enjoy your videos immensely 💕

Thank you for trying out this DIY gilding”wax”! Beautiful card! I’m assuming the indigoblu powders are mica powders? While a bit expensive, the Sweet petunia glue press has been a big help with decreasing hand pain, as well as the cheaper precision tip 1 oz plastic bottles (Amazon) which are much softer plastic and easier to squeeze. It is interesting to see how the same words are used to describe different things depending on the country - in the US it’s considered crude to say you need the toilet, and we use the word bathroom which is UK’s room with a bath tub. And sprinkler head for rose, chef apron for pinny, sweater for jumper, jumper is a pinafore dress.

Good video. Love the galvanize bucket. I hope your hand improves. After having 3 years of Carpal Tunnel pain I had the surgery last May. Every so often I have issues in the same area of my hand on the outside of the thumb. I ice it. About pinafores. Loved making them to wear over granny style dresses I made to wear back in the 70's. Here in the U S they are jumper style aprons that tie in the back. At least it's how I made mine.
@Chrissieannie
@Chrissieannie 7 ай бұрын
The things you call jumpers are what we call pinafore dresses, as they look like a pinafore from the front but are a complete dress. It's strange how different words for the same thing have evolved!😊😊😊

Great card, and thanks for showing how to put glue and hand cream together to use with powders to make a glaze. I do call the head a sprinkler head but I have received a Haws watering can and they called it a rose. I also figured out the jumper meant sweater from watch other crafters make a card with a “jumper” on it. Thanks for sharing.

Christine, my recipe is a good dollop of neutral shoe Polish and metal pigment powder, once the Polish and powder are mixed well, store in an airtight tin as use as normal, it doesn't dry out in the tin but drys perfectly on the project and buffs really well. 😁 🌈

QUESTION, CHRISSY … I noticed your GREEN MARKER is rather dry. Has anyone ever suggested to you to stand the tip of DRY Alcohol Markers, b r i e f l y, in a tube (I used a slightly larger pill bottle) with just a tiny bit of isopropyl alcohol in the bottom? The premise, as I understand it, is to rehydrate the thing, “for emergency use”, just til the marker can be replaced or re-inked. I’ve done it once, with a Sharpie, with somewhat less than ideal results, but I was trying to bring back the deep black that it was, but I’m sure I’d probably have had better results with a lighter colored one. Anyway … Be well!

Love this card and the gilding looks great! I have arthritis in my thumb as well so I now decant glues into the small fine tip bottles from Woodware as they are thin walled, so much easier to squeeze and very easy to control for intricate die cuts. They do have a separate pin, though, so you have the issue of getting it back into the fine tip before it dries up😂

Great experiment, Christine. I love how different the same two languages are. Not just the words but also pronunciation. Occasionally, it will take me a bit to figure out what is being said and I think about it and translate to how I say it. It's actually fun and enlightening. Another beautiful card. Only some of my clear stamps stain (seemingly for no reason sometimes). Some stain as soon as I use them and some over time. Unfortunately, they're not all created equal. I do prefer rubber stamps even though you can't see the image when you stamp, I just figure that's what my stamping platform is for and I have one rather large one that I can actually add stamps to and move the card around instead of replacing the stamps so I use scrap paper to arrange to my liking first. Did I mention I adore how this card turned out?
