Hello! I would love to hear you talk about how you work with colors in your outfits, it's all very earthy and gorgeous. Or maybe even something about your style evolution, how you've built your aesthetic and all, i'd love to watch something in that direction! thank you xx

Long time follower of Christine and I always saw these colors in her wardrobe and gravitating towards these tones, maybe I am wrong, (Christine correct me!) but I think she was a Cinema student and loving Nouvelle Vague really influenced her style (at least that was what happened to me haha)

I think with you and Asian wear: you have such a chill/light punk/funky style that it makes the Asian wear look like an accent rather than the main look. You also have a style that Asian wear compliments really well rather than being too on the nose. It looks more ‘cool’ instead of formal. Kind of like an Issey Miyake take. I think if you had a style that was like ‘coastal grandma,’ or something too muted it would dominate. But on you it just gives it a unique edge.

I’d love to see a styling video where you try different outfits with some of those pieces you were going to try to make work

The queen of style! Love your styling videos - you really cherish the pieces too which is cool to see, it doesn't feel consumerist like other style videos on this platform at all

That's wild you got that coat for 8 bucks! Probably cost more to dry clean it. I think the mandarin collar jacket is very cool.

Exactly - when I finally went and got the trenchcoat dry cleaned, they charged me for the inner liner and the outer jacket is two separate dry cleaning bills!

I love all your jackets! I only have a raincoat (not a cute one, and it's not even water-proof, so it's just a coat really) and I layer different thicknesses fleece sweathers underneath during winter. Not because I like it that way, but because it rains a lot here in the Netherlands (I which I could send some of it to L.A.) and because I am plus sized and coats and jackets are impossible to find for my size/body shape. I honestly sometimes think they assume fat people just never go outside 🤣 I believe the tradition of leaving the bottom button unbuttened comes from king Edward VII. He was also a plus sized person and apparently also struggled to find jackets that fit him (even a king..), so he couldn't button-up the bottom button. And to make him feel better (or out of respect/to protect his ego) everyone else started to leave the bottom button unbuttoned. And that is, apparently, why we still have that tradition. Isn't that funny?!? I really like all the vintage pieces, they seem to fit you so nicely. Hope you safe from the fires ❤

Incredible that the tradition stayed all these decades!

What about instead of all black, all brown! To pair with the jackets that are cream.

Re: Asians wearing Asian clothing, I say more power to us. I’d honestly rather us reclaim what’s ours than see other races wear it and then it’s called cool or stylish. It was always cool and stylish, we don’t need to have it co-signed by some white brand or European lady. I could write a whole dissertation on this obviously lol. Just to give an example, my family is viet and my sister is in her 20s and wears ao dois ALL the time. People will stop her and compliment her and ask about them

That’s true! What I meant is that I think it’s cool when people who aren’t Asian wear it too cause it’s not their culture and it’s like they’re diverse in their choices. It’s like they’re sharing their appreciation which can sometimes be taken as appropriation.
