The Kemper mask is my fave. Just how you recognize the character just causes the mask to hit way harder for me.

The Pretty Woman mask in 3D just looks like a Halloween mask based on the Pretty Woman mask. Doesn't look like a skin mask at all. Looks like what it is...a mediocre latex mask based on an icon. Good for a Halloween store purchase, maybe, but sad to see something like that standing in for the OG Pretty Woman in an actual movie.

Simply nothing will come close to the original masks…Rob Burns took real castings from real people and he added stitches and markings and added a material that would imitate human flesh…They are the best of the best, the rest of the movies made the masks to be way too expressionistic…It went from flesh masks to Halloween masks, especially TCM 2 and the remake…However the Kemper mask is just about the best mask since the original simply because it looked so much like his face.

TCM is just like Halloween, only a select few GREAT-good films and just trash and BAD TRASH. best leatherface mask, the original lot, TCM 2, remake. um, the abattoir mask IS THE ONLY ACTUAL LEATHER mask. Theory, every leatherface to an extent, are different family members. the one from 2 isn't from the 1st ( the one from 3 is likely the original as is next gen's)

The OG and Part 2 are the only ones that matter to me. There have been decent ones since 1986, but nothing can touch the first two. Also, Part 2 is one of the best horror sequels ever. Never gets old.

Great vid and ranking. The original masks are BY FAR the best. I do wanna say, though, that I don't understand the complaint about seeing his eyes. I get that people have that issue with Michael Myers (even though, it makes sense to see his eyes as Loomis always talked about his ACTUAL eyes and not the eyeholes of the mask) but with Leatherface, we've always seen his eyes and he's a completely different character to Michael. He is far more human than Michael and not a "supernatural embodiment of evil". Just my 2 cents.

Doesn't get better than Gunnar Hansen in the original with his performance and his masks and makeup. Big fan of the mask from TCM2 (1986) with all lhe stitching and the truck scene at the start. I remember the cool "Lady in the Lake" trailer for Texas Chain Saw Massacre 3 I'm the 80s. The first film was banned here, so part 2 was my introduction - not counting poor quality pirate vhs tapes traded around school 😂

I also really liked Leatherface Texas Chainsaw pt 3 as a kid and was my 2nd favorite Chainsaw movie until the 2003 remake took it's place when it came out. I actually have a hard time deciding if I like the OG or remake better sometimes, but besides those two, Leatherface is definitely my 3rd favorite.

I’d throw the Nicotero Leatherface skin from the TCM video game in there. It feels like a mix of part 3 and 2. Also you can’t beat the original 3 masks made by Bob Burns. That latex and fiberglass method made the most realistic looking skin masks.

Sure, completely leave off the Rob Zombie clean mask in the Myers ranking, but include a mask that Leatherface wears for two seconds in this one… 🙄

Agree with everything but I would say that 3d and 2022 in terms of being horrific and cool masks deserve to be ranked far higher besides how bad the movies may be

It's amazing how many of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre movies are direct sequels to the original that ignore everything else. It's like a Choose Your Own Chapter 2 series. 😆

I don’t get the eye hate. I get that with Halloween masks but not here. Especially with the masks made from characters in the films. You see your friend’s face but those eyes are NOT the eyes you know. Just enhances the creep factor when you know what it is and you see the crazy underneath it.

Totally agreed, for Michael Myers it makes sense because he's meant to be "The Shape" and seeing his eyes clearly all the time ruins the mystique. But for Leatherface, the unhinged eyes totally work
