eveey Sunday i give it at least a few plays. I am a single father of my two daughters 9 and 5. they truly saved my life... Lived a outlaw life which seems like a hundred years ago.. though we struggle financially i put that life behind us..... I am the proudest man in the entire world the unconditional love i receive makes me feel like a superhero every single sunday... I cant lie this song almost always brings a tear...faye and julia you are your daddys heart i thank God for you.... though they may not have a mommy around we are the tightest family we could be... we are the three bears...

I'm a southern man. born and raised. this song was played on the night of my uncles wedding to my aunt. I haven't seen my uncle in years, nor my aunt, but I remember. hearing this... makes me feel like a young boy again. feeling those warm summer days, and cool autumn nights up north on his land, hunting from dawn to dusk with my uncle. them long evenings on the front porch of his house. the smell of my aunt's baked beans & chili drifting on out the window. helping my cousins & uncle catch/skin/cook wild hog. miss y'all Sandy & Jeffrey. but most of all... I miss those days, when my whole family was still around. I miss the organized chaos that was sunday night and family barbecues. I'll be playing this when I do finally up and set my ass down, finally get married. seems only right to continue the trend, don't it?

They announced he was singing with Justin Timberlake, had never heard of him but decided to watch to see what JT was going to sing. As soon as this man sang his first few notes I was on iTunes buying this cd. Literally as soon as he said "Use to spend my nights out at a barroom" I was hooked. I don't know what rock I've been living under not to have heard of him, but I'm glad I crawled out long enough to discover this awesomeness called Chris Stapleton.

I am an old 67 white man raised in Oakland, California, and reside now in Amarillo, Texas. I have had an eclectic ear for good music since I was in high school. Never care for heavy rock or what was popular at the time. My dad was really into Willie Nelson, so I was listening to country blues before the outlaw thing took off. This song has been done by many country music folks, starting in the 70s with David Allen Coe in an album of the same name, Tennessee Whiskey. George Jones even had a hit with this song in the 80s. This rendition of Tennessee Whiskey, I think, is the very best one, it bluesy country, soul, all in one, I think.

They wish, they dream and they hope. And right now, they are sitting here reading these words, and I'm writing this for you so you dont feel alone anymore. @tongolele127 жыл бұрын
more blues than country is RIGHT Most country today is more something than country. "they" deliberately removed the twang form the voice and the instrumentation so to appeal to the masses, thus removing its very essence that made it "country" and totally redefining it.

His song made me realise I was in a bad relationship after 10yrs and it helped me through the break up. The woman he describes is everything 'she' was not, took me for granted and made me feel 'little', while I did my hardest. Drove me to the point to take that bottle and then I heared his song. Sober for 4 month's now and happy with my 2 kittens. Such a sweet little song can make you realise the hardship of the world you live in at that moment! Love the song will let it play on my funeral next to Bob Marley's redemption song when I go! Ps: just discovered this gem, I was always hard in to the European EDM music

Liberal Smiter, that seems like a hasty generalization about Bri's experience's and culture. How do you know she has even been exposed to urban culture. I think that too often we listen to what our peer's listen too and in some areas that may not be country. I agree with you that if music is good we should listen to it regardless of what genre it is. The thing that is great about music is it can be whatever we need it to be at that time. I just feel like your make generalizations about a person you do not know online.
@jordanvitek50028 жыл бұрын
Liberal Smiter I also think that the generalisation that urban cultures make you hate country. I agree that statistics are important for furthering our understanding on issues and anomalies in life. Generalizing that this women hates country because she is black is too much of a reach for me. I don't see how that generalization supports anything productive. it is evident from your attack on Democrats that you must be a Republican that is naive enough to believe that change can come from hatred and bigotry and skewing of facts and statistics. blame Obama I suppose
@bri55988 жыл бұрын
Well to begin with, I'm not black lol... I'm Irish and Argentinian. Two, I like all types of music from rap, rnb, classic rock. I grew up in a small town where people either listened to rap or country, and the country they listened to was more new age country that just didn't appeal to me. But I've learned that I like old country like Dolly Parton, Tammy Wynette, Johnny Cash etc
