I was married once... I wasn’t ready for the love she had for me. I did love her but I didn’t know how to love yet. I never had that and she was already once divorced with children. Hardest day of my life was when she threw the ring down and I heard “ I Want a Divorce” come from her soft voice. There is a lot of things in life that you will regret and fellas losing her will be one of them. Get your act together, that girl loves you! Now start living to love her and not living like you’re gonna lose her. I’ve been alone a few years now and songs like this kick me in the feelings. Don’t be me, grab her (lovingly) and don’t let go, the man you become will be decided by the love of a good women. Enough rambling from a tired soul. Have a good day and always find a reason to smile.

@bryanhilton5131 life always gets worse sober when we don't work a spiritual programme. The alcohol is not the problem it's our heads that are the problem. Living sober and living in sobriety are two completely different things. If you are willing to go to any lengths to get recovery then get to AA meeting and surrender whole heartedly to that programme and I promise you life will change for the better. Try and be gentle with yourself. You have a mind that's trying to unalive you. Don't listen to it ❤️

@@Weirjetwashing Ive already been down that road. My problem has been a very toxic family who I have finally cut off, terrible choices in relations, which are over with, and not protecting myself financially which put me in a very weak and vulnerable position witch the above mentioned people. I have no consequences from drinking and the more time passes from cutting off the toxicity - along with rebuilding my life the better I feel. The hole im climbing out of is very deep. And I'm doing it the hard way. Solo. By choice. When I finally come out of it and rise up - I will know who I really am and never let anyone bring me down.

Went past my brother’s old place the one he lived in with his wife and kids before he passed away. This was today. My brother passed away last year. I cried, and sat there thinking of all the good times we had there as it was the best time of his life and where he started his family. After a while I began to drive back to my office, and I thought wouldn’t it be crazy if a Chris Stapleton song came on the radio because it was his absolute favorite artist. I turned the dial up and this song came on. I balled my eyes out all the way back to my office. Needless to say this song is beautiful, as we all have to take the major unexpected changes life gives us and start over some times. My brother was my absolute best friend. I miss him so dearly, but we have to make the best of what life give us and memories especially good ones follow us wherever we go or start over.

I didn't have the greatest childhood, my parents were never really around and even when they were it might've been like they were gone. I struggled for a long time (and still am to this day) processing everything I went through and struggling to find out who I am and what my purpose is. Finally at age 22 I'm joining the military to be of service and to make a positive change in my life. I won't make the same mistakes my parents did. I'll be better. I guess you can say I'm starting over. If you have a dream in life just go for it. You only live once, and you only get one shot to make it happen. Don't take your youth for granted, fight to be better, don't give in to the temptations of life or you'll be miserable. Much love to everyone who reads this. Don't fear starting over.

Three years ago, my family viewed me with shame as I battled a destructive relationship with drugs. In a pivotal moment, while under the influence one night, a song played on the TV and it dawned on me that I could choose to "start over." Since that transformative night, I have remained steadfast in my commitment to sobriety, steering clear of any substances. As I write this, I find myself in a new home, accompanied by my supportive wife and the joyful sounds of our children echoing through the house. The once-lingering shame has been replaced with pride from my family, and I, too, take immense pride in my journey. For anyone grappling with the notion that it's "too late," I offer this testament: it is never too late to embrace the opportunity to "start over." May blessings be upon you. 🌻

@@IvanSnegireff-ge5mu It is scary. I literally walked away from my job in finance (trader) to move to a remote village of 75 people as one of two teachers. Bless your heart. I remember how tough early sobriety is. Art Williams said, "I'm not telling you it's going to be easy - I'm telling you it's going to be worth it." I'm a 74yo female, and my sobriety date is 06/18/1989. And being clean and sober is definitely worth it. Outside help in the form of counseling, a psychiatrist and meds have helped tremendously. That's for me. Some folks are anti- all that, and that's their right. We each work according to our higher power's way for ourselves. I sure can go on & on. I wish the best for you. Peace.

4 yrs ago I was at a steady mediocre job on the East coast. My wife had been pleading with me to find a job in the Pacific Northwest so she could thrive in her endeavor as well. I finally built up the courage to take a risk and make the move with my wife and son. I took a limited contract position and ultimately got hired into a well paying full time job. I can now support my wife, son and my second son on the way. This song reminds us to always put your family first in all you do. I’m so thankful I took the risk for the betterment of my future and that of my family. Take the leap of faith, you will find a way with hard work and determination. Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover. - Mark Twain

This song is absolutely one of the undoubtedly the best songs ever. Underrated. My husband and I once had a hard year. We had reconciled and took a tent and my car, we left the camper at home, and went to the beautiful mountains of Greer, Arizona. It truly is our heaven on earth. We ran to Walmart and bought all of our food to cook and camping supplies randomly even though we have so much at home. We took that trip within a ten minute choice to get away and drive three hours to talk and spill our hearts out and learn to forgive and move forward because, we realized we weren’t ready to throw the years and love away. Life is short. We’re blessed to have what we have and our problems seemed so minuscule being away from eachother for ten months. We missed our laughter between us and our children. That trip started the best start over of our life. We found a spot that no one was near that surrounded us on a cliff with the most beautiful sunset you’d ever see. I sang this on that dirt road to him probaly 5 times and then another 15 home. As many times and I could. This song will always bring back the most fondest of memories. ❤ The other night he put on some random Channing Tatum movie I fell asleep too. This song was on the credits of it. I somehow woke as soon as it started and I sang it to him holding his hand. We both thought of the end of our hard days on that beautiful cliff watching the sunset with no one but us. Thank you Chris for singing what I couldn’t possibly say.

Haha Seth that's one of those real key lines when someone doesn't like everything Chris Stapleton stands for. We get it Chris isn't a tryhard that tries to act like he's everything of country music. Jamey is great . but Chris is written two or three hundred songs for just about every other country artist you can ever imagine, along with jazz rock you name it. Just sheer music writing alone he'll go down in the Music Hall of Fame. Not to mention a performer. So settle down there.. unless you're riding hit songs as well for the Grand Ole Opry I would take a seat

If Chris Stapleton isn't regarded as one of the top 3 vocalists on the entire planet, something is just wrong. I dig the chemistry, the growl, the raw talent, no crackle in the voice, the clarity, the whole package. Take note folks, I predict super-stardom in the near future.

This song.. truly speaks. My husband and I of 6 years (7 in DEC) were ready to let go. Marriage in 2021 is extremely hard, the balance of finacial pressure, happiness, lifestyle and a microwaved society takes a toll whether we accept it or not. This song talks about starting over, the hard roads are the ones worth choosing. We are starting over again, we're leaving our state behind that we've known our whole lives and giving us a chance again. Our love is there, we know this-- "it don't matter to me wherever we are is where I wanna be-

When me and my boyfriend started dating we were 17. He was the person I wanted to spend my life with. He was a true angel. He was the most important of my world. I’d do nothing short of anything for him. about a year in he changed in every aspect of the way. He took me for granted and left me every few months. Broke my trust, raised his voice, stopped putting in effort; not even the bare minimum. It was heart wrenching for a girl who loved him purely and unconditionally. This was our song it gave me hope. Him and I tried to make it work so many times. One night he asked me to come over, he came out to the car and ended things once and for all. At this point I was completely numb. I didn’t fight it. This was 2 months ago now. Everyday since then he has been doing everything in his power to get me back. The lengths he’s went to to show me he wants me to be his forever human has been so bittersweet as past me would have died to see him show effort like this. but also confusing and scary because why wasn’t I good enough for him for the years we were together? I understand it took him seeing my absence in his life as a lesson and he reminds me of that daily. However as much as I just want to jump back into his arms where I felt so safe, it’s also the place where i felt the most anxious and most lonely. Today is the day I tell him I cannot talk to him any longer. It is the hardest thing I will ever do. I am worthy of love and respect. I am a good human. And now days the lyrics to this song don’t make me wish for a a man to love me yet remind me that starting over also means healing on my own. Tell the people whom you love, you love them. For you never know when it will be too late.

Music is something that can sound different to every ear. Some equate this song to losing someone but the song clearly describes someone that is starting over with someone they love. What ever the song means to the listener is usually connected with a moment, a memory, good or bad. May this song invoke fond memories, heal broken hearts and inspire dreams. For me, this song is an inspiration to leave the cold of Waukesha and head south to Florida.
