I saw it in Dolby as well at an early screening last night (thanks Amazon Prime) Although this IS made for me (a musical fan who grew up with the OZ book series & has see the stage show) it can be enjoyed by many. The film (Part 1) is the same length of the ENTIRE stage version but this allows for breathing room between songs, more transitional moments, & tiny bits thrown in from the novel. For Part 2 this will be important for a show that on stage goes at lightning speed where some characters reach an end destination without us seeing the steps to get there. (no spoilers here just in case) So between the easter eggs to the original sources, some incredible performances, & direction by Jon M Chu that is truly beautiful this has so much to offer & is truly an EVENT FILM.

But frankly it killed all interest I had in seeing the movie, as similar tantrums by other actors in movies and TV shows have 100% correlated with the end-product being dog shit. $5000 is a bargain! Imagine the day you have it delivered, you tear up (with joy obviously) signing those divorce papers, remembering how important HD is to you. When the children come to visit on the weekend, you’ll be reminded why and strangely, you give the TV ‘a well deserved break’. At night, you’ll sit with your $5000 TV, no interruption, well no family to distract you, perfect, you can watch what you want at any hour, you’ll cry a river to stuff like Perks of Being a Wallflower’ or ‘Happy Gilmore’. The day you pawn the TV for vodka and whiskey, you’ll be thankful to get $500! Could even be a regular Only Fans customer, living out your fantasies. Yes, oh boy what a journey it would be, what a life experience, never doing the school run, never having to physically share a bed with someone who gives you lists. Instead you can share the bed with a good drink, a 19 year old Only Fans adult model, getting you to pay for college, freeing you of moral obligations, who wants those pesky things right? Eventually, you’ll forget why your life turned out this way and one day, you’ll see Chris Stuckman on KZbin, advertising another bargain, the all singing, all dancing $6000 animal translator, making you a regular Dr Doolittle, talking to the animals. You ignore the monkey at the zoo, who tells you, it’s not worth $6000, to understand him, he claims to talk out his butt, which by comparison is riveting after conversing with the Koala Bears.

@@bienmal that's why I'm doubting it though- I've literally heard nothing about this film from anyone online or in person.

Chris is advertising a 5k TV as if were not all broke as hell. So broke that we need to watch several film critic videos to decide if we are willing to spend 20€/a third of a days salary to go to a cinema

Being neutral and liking it is one thing, but my wife and I have been Wicked fans for 20+ years, and I was ready to tear it a new one, limb from limb. We both absolutely LOVED it! Somehow, they pulled it off - BRILLIANTLY!

I’m surprised about Ariana to be honest.. i knew her voice was lovely but she seems to play the same Cat Valentine personality in all her acting so that’s cool if she actually did a great job here. I gotta say, I was not expecting this film to get such great reviews lol.

I wasn't sure about this movie because of how much advertising this film got, I started to get really tired of seeing it advertised especially during the Olympics, but I'm glad it's good and I didn't realize it was the same director of in the heights which I liked, so I hope I will like this one, I have only heard songs from karaoke.

Yeah Chris I'm going to skip this one I can't advocate actresses that attack their own fan base because the fan base was trying to do something nice for them especially her. I'm going to skip it.

Same here. I love the stage show, but I won't support narcissistic actresses who crap on their audience.

No but this is actually a pretty good story to break up into part one and part two. Even going back earlier than the play, which had distinct acts, the book is made up of distinct sections.

he's not "trying hard" not to mention anything. But for some reason, there are a bunch of 12-year old petty LSRS all in the comments every single time he makes a video coming over just to hate. Pretty freakin bizzare.

Saw it last nice. The singing is an A+. Cynthia and Ariana CRUSHED IT. The movie is at least a C+ 😅 idk. The whole splitting the story into 2 parts still feels unnecessary. And 2 & a half hours is also questionable to me 🤷🏽♂️ like why are some scenes so long? Not a bad movie tho

This actually gets me hyped for the movie. Im a huge fan of the stage play and have seen it several times, but Im also so so tired of unoriginal movies ripping off beloved source material. I also was not sold on Grande's casting as Glinda. But now Im probably going to see it. Thanks for the review!
