I loved both of these movies. Josee, The Tiger and The Fish is one of my favourites of 2020. Pig was way different from what I expected it to be. True, the concept of the movie was basically John Wick but with pig but as the movie progressed, I liked that it's less action but more of emotion for Cage's character. It's a brilliant character study, I can feel his pain when he lost his beloved animal. The movie is more of a loss and love than revenge flicks. I know in the last video, Chris was mentioning how much he enjoys the appearance of the VHS (on the left) and Anime VHS (on the right). I think this is actually a functional display, not just for the show. I agree it has more "clutter" than before, but I also get how it's more functional this way.

I have a feeling that he's removing the grading system because he's being directly affected as an upcoming film maker. Or afraid of the backlash from peers? I don't know. I like the grading system and the worst movies of a certain year. Let's see what's going to happen. I like Chris' reviews but lately, they're too far in between. With all the changes on the channel, his reviews being on the safe side and his plans he's working on, I feel kind of distant as an audience. But it's fine, at least he's finally fulfilling his dreams.
@jayn83923 жыл бұрын
Agreed. Not sure what comes next, but I watched his channel to see an unguarded opinion on the quality of a film. If it's great I'd like to know, if it's trash I would also like to know. I think there is a big difference between criticism and being disrespectful to the film makers.and honestly, at least with many larger films, they are being made in such a corporate, cookie cutter fashion simply to appeal to the largest audience and make the most money that they don't really deserve any kind of hand holding when it comes to criticizing their work. Most of these films are not being made by ultra passionate people. But rather by corporate stooges, churning out derivative nonsense for cash and fame. But I do want him to be successful and happy so I'm all for the change, I just may unfortunately watch far less of his content as a result.

New isn't always better. He's ruining his channel. But he is not a youtuber. He's a film maker

Chris, I’m happy that you are happy with your decisions, but… you’ll lose subscribers, which means that you might lose people who care about your videos, even videos like this. I recommend you to keep making reviews of all new releases that you like, even big movies, Just to give you something to think about

The new direction you’re taking is genius! I love the idea of covering films that deserve the attention. As someone who’s sick of all the most mainstream shit I’m happy to support your channel fully.
