There are glimpses of Christ dealing with his shadow. One example is when satan tempts him during his desert sojourn. Most read it as temptation coming from an outside force, but I believe the temptation came from within.

It was more like realization. If we sell ourselves to the material world, lie and manipulate, we can rule the world and have 'everything' beneath our feet. As you know the rulers of this world are pure Satanists (materialists). I understood this when I was reading this passage when I was a kid. Using my own logic. You are right. It comes from within. Story of a Jesus is the story of us all. Never fading truth. Immortal.

Many thanks for access. Jung seems to me to be correct because he never ceased but only spoke to the soul. In my judgement its impossible to do away with Jung s revealed truth. Whatever else is on the picture, jungs creative, artistic, symbolic, relational, other is indispensable to the the explanation of life and its patterns. I've followed amd met many a Guru, faith, tradition, and culture. They never escape this process. No individual does. Whatever else may be true, this seems to me to be an accurate account of our suffering, love and sacrifice. Only when; as both christ and Buddha said; only when you die to your current self will you be reborn into truth

Been reading the brilliant Jung and he’s helping me to process trauma through dreams . Dreams help us to process and purge trauma memories . I’m finding that until we process trauma (not solely through rationalizing it but through the body and emotions) we will be stuck in current endeavors . Success seems to want healing to happen first . Maybe to clear the focus for the tasks of that success ?

I have long believed that dreams help us work out what is conflicted between our conscious an unconscious selves. It makes sense to me that past traumas would show up in the drama of our dreams. Without the help of a Jungian therapist how do we best enhance the dream experience that so many of us have nightly?

@Kevin Rung the unconscious is not accessible to the conscious mind. It doesn't not work in stories and narratives. Perhaps by working on our conscious stories, narratives, and how we reflect upon ourselves and the world, is the key to nurturing the unconscious.

@ 22:00 Jung says darkness doesn't create light, nor light create darkness. But darkness does reveal light, and light illuminates darkness. In time, the same space/person can be filled at one point in time and devoid at another. Love Jung, as JBPeterson says, he puts a chapter in a sentence. I find myself stopping the video, pondering, rewinding, and more reflection fairly often.

At dawn, when you have trouble getting out of bed, tell yourself: “I am rising to do the work of a human being. What do I have to complain about, if I’m going to do what I was born for-the things I was brought into the world to do? Or is this what I was created for? To huddle under the blankets and stay warm?” - But it’s nicer here … So were you born to feel “nice”? Instead of doing things and experiencing them? Don’t you see the plants, the birds, the ants and spiders and bees going about their individual tasks, putting the world in order, as best they can? And you’re not willing to do your job as a human being? Why aren’t you running to do what your nature demands? - But we have to sleep sometime… Agreed. But nature set a limit on that - as it did on eating and drinking. And you’re over the limit. You’ve had more than enough of that. But not of working. There’s still more of that to do. You don’t love yourself enough. For if you did, you’d love your nature too, and what it demands of you. People who love what they do wear themselves down doing it, they even forget to wash or eat. Do you have less respect for your own nature than the engraver does for engraving, the dancer for the dance, the miser for money or the social climber for status? When they’re really possessed by what they do, they’d rather stop eating and sleeping than give up practicing their arts. Is not then your labor in the world just as worthy of respect and worth your effort? (Book 5, Paragraph 1) Marcus Aurelius The stoic philosopher pointing towards the need to arise morning. And he was writting to himself without an eye for any other.

I have only heard the opposite of this teaching from the Mormons who claim that Christ was the first born of the father and that Satan was the second born of the father. Can anyone share a reference that might shed some light on where Carl Jung might have come up with his statement about this?

In Mormonism Lucifer was gods favorite son if I understand it correctly. He wanted all of mankind to be saved but God did not want this and so Satan rebelled against God. As punishment he and a third of his followers were cast out of God's light.

instead of words like "gpod" and "bad" I prefer life affirming or life negating. This way it is less ambiguous. And here, "life-affirming" means all that heals life, all that nurtures life, all that protects life, all that celebrates life, all that is gentle to life, all that allows life to live, for children to explore, for artists to create, for earth to thrive, for life to learn without reserve, for people to choose, to nurture body, mind and soul of all. good and bad have become all to synonymous with conformity and rebellion--even when rebellion is life affirming and conformity, life negating.
@funkchurches
@funkchurches 3 жыл бұрын
This is a monumental contribution. It takes a “spiritual” vision, born of learned wisdom, to see life -affirmation correctly. Those who unconsciously pursue life affirmation most often do not see that their life is not affirmed in any other way than by their own ignorant consciousness. The inability to see and accept the salvation of paradox leaves us blind to destruction.

My view is that all is love and that evil is what we call twisted love, the fractal edges of the sun. It's expression can be infinitely twisted, perverted, into a bottomless pit to hell - hell being the loving, good undoing of the ingrown, withheld love. In fact all we experience as other than wholesome, good, pure, is to some extent a suspension of love, a fear, a believed separation. But God knows, of course, that all belongs to him. That evil is done in his name and flesh. It is for us to see it too, to learn and adapt and come to know and embody the true, good and beautiful and spread our light upon the world. Thereby untwisting and illuminating all warped corners of love until we all remesh in pure loving unity.

Much of the OT was written in by the Levites, all the evil destructive shite, Deuteronomy, and Leviticus. The prophets of Israel are the real thing. Find online Douglas Reed's The Controversy of Zion to learn how the OT was manipulated by the zealous Levite priests, the origin of Zionism. They despised the Israelites and stole the name they use for Palestine to get the Christians support.

Talk of synchronicity. Just a couple of days ago read about symmetry in universe necessitating that there be negative time just as for charge, mass, etc. Unfortunately for Hindus, who have not understood this concept of yin and yang and myself being hampered by the same, when heard this audio, realised that just as India's good days have arrived with nature bestowing light energy to one leader who has ascended to the top in 2014, the same process also imbued an equal but opposite dark energy to another individual. And just because of that blind spot mentioned above the Hindus are only fanning the flame of destruction of india and enslavement of hindus in that latter individual, and being very very intimately privy to the existence and rise to ascendancy of power in that Individual, and only because of the world record shattering arrogance of Hindus themselves, I can divine without stint or measure that this Individual will prevail and hence His goal too.

To all those who are causing suffering in this world, directly or indirectly: Heed your dreams at night, those nightmares that you most assuredly are having are imploring you to change -before it’s too late… The quality of our dreams is both a reflection of our thoughts and actions as well as a general foreshadowing of the fate of our souls in the next life...A nightly, temporary karma that beckons us to change - for the good - so as to avoid a more permanent karma❤️‍🔥 Beauty(🌷)+Complexity(🌎) =Intent(❤️) The Figure 8 Analogy: An analogy on life, death, the dream-state and the symbolism intertwined within the human experience. We human beings are not traveling in the abstract motion of a straight line towards death (for instance, the numerical straight line of say 1-89). Instead, we are moving in the motion of a figure 8. The Figure 8 is a natural repeating pattern that is divided into two halves and is thus the perfect symbol to represent the human life cycle and our two primary states of existence that we are continuously moving in and out of -the Awake state and the Dream state. When we awake from sleep we come full circle to when we fall back asleep (represented by the bottom half of the figure 8 )and when we go into the dream state we come full circle to when we awake from the dream state (represented by the top half of the figure 8 ). Upon death; the figure 8 of life untwines, but it’s not the body untwining from the mind that this analogy represents. It's two states of mind untwining to form a larger state of mind. (8-0) Because the awake state is really a state -of mind, with our body's physical reality "consciously" intertwined; and the dream-state is also a state of mind, with our body's physical reality "subconsciously" intertwined. Therefore; upon death, these two states of mind untwine to form a “larger” state of mind. A state that has all the potentialities of the dream world (flying, telepathy, psychokinesis, etc) combined with all the actualities of the awake world(nature, form, bonds, etc). This I refer to as the transitional analogy. While conceiving The Figure 8 Analogy, I realized life and death must be perceived -from one point of view- as seperate entities(the transitional analogy(8-0), but must also be perceived -from another point of view- as inseparable entities(the symbolic analogy👇), both of which are ultimately linked by the dream-state. The symbolic analogy consists of the untwined figure 8 of life/the 'circle of death’, if you will, which -abstractly- overlapps the ‘circle of life’/the Earth, with the overlappment representing the dream-state, like the common area in a venn diagram, and implies that the dream state is just as much a part of life as is of death ~by which semi-explains precognitive dreams, prodromal dreams, "visitations" by deceased relatives, etc; for the dream-state has a foothold in the afterlife, and is based on the premise that “while our body sleeps, our dream state symbolically represents the state that awaits upon our body's ultimate rest.” In other words, while we are lying down and sleeping/dreaming, this natural process symbolizes where we go when we're ultimately lying down/dead -to a place "like" our dream-state...A state "of mind” with our body's physical form+bonds eternally engrained and intertwined. 👁~8~👁

GVSH... the most important thing, G, is knowing that that you don't know. It's the 1st step on the path of wisdom. Suspending judgement helps with clearing the mind. Remaining there, for as long as possible, is the meditative state. There will always be more to add or subtract from any subject. Re-play, re-listen, re-read, re-learn. Keep going. Your doing fine. You've begun. Always, a beginner. I've heard said, that you just get going, and then you die. Not living to die, but dieing to live, and love, and learn, is the great state. The Grace state. Also, the "grey" state. Nothing's ever finniished. Everything's up for grabs. Grasp lightly, gently. We're all compelled to learn. Learning how to learn, is the key that unlocks the door to "in-formation"...

As much as I like Jung and even agree with view of psychological opposites, I think a lot of his meditations on evil are a semantic misunderstanding. A christian will say that evil is the perversion of something good. For example gluttony is over-consuming as opposed to consuming appropriate amounts. The former occurs because the impulse for the latter is poorly integrated. In the same way Jung would have probably conceded that evil occurs when the shadow isn't voluntarily confronted and continually integrated. That was most likely his reason for writing this to begin with, after all. Good and evil in the christian sense are asymmetrical concepts because they relate to the opposites differently, namely as balance and imbalance of them.

Circuitous reasoning that. It’s simpler to know evil as the absence of good rather than the opposite. The shadow isn’t evil , it’s that which is not illuminated, the dark side of the moon as it were. But the moon is a sphere not a two dimensional figure. We are each more than one thing, more than one side. Christians or rather the Church have so demonized the shadow that we fear to face it. But Christ is no respecter of churches. Be mindful of what is, the whole Self. Face the shadow, illuminate him and he is gone- get Thee behind!

Carl was probably a good man! If however someone needs knowledge about God that will help them SAVE their eternal souls it would be best they get this knowledge from those who became Saints/Holy from those who were purified the heart and became worthy to know God persomnally! [Mathew5:8] “Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God” THE TWO WAYS OF ACQUIRING KNOWLEDGE [Colossians 2-8] “Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit after the tradition of man.” There are two ways by which man can acquire knowledge. The first way is known as Philosophy and is described to be begotten “a man centered way” because man has always the first word to his own understanding, his own mind, his own logic that in many times is accompanied by man’s fantasia. Man’s logic and thinking process have the first word in formulating ideas in order to express ideas, opinions or visions, or in order to further benefit mankind in medicine and science. The second way in acquiring knowledge needed for the Heavenly Truth for the return to the presence of God (Salvation) is thought Revelation by the Holy Spirit and it is known as receiving knowledge the ~Christ centred~ way. The precondition of acquiring knowledge the Christ center way (Revelation) is that religious Life is practiced according to the Will of the Triad God as delivered for the Salvation of man 2000 years ago with 85 Holy Apostolic canons (rules). (Α Colossians 1:18) “He is the head of his body, the Church; He is the source of the body’s life”. orthodoxinfo.com/general/stjohn_church.aspx The TRUTH is revealed ONLY to those who have properly prepared to receive it those who love Him by obeying His commandments and it is RECEIVED PERSON to person, meaning that the TRIAD God delivers the knowledge personally to man just like he delivered Moses the Ten Commandments. The Nature and Tactics of Satan "...the whole world is under the sway of the evil one." 1 John 5:19 "Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness..." 2 Cor.11:14-15 "Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world...." 1 John 4:1 Characteristics of Satan 1. Created by God, but not equal to God. (Proverbs 16:4) 2. Defies God and despises truth. (John 8:44) 3. Was given limited power. (Job 1:8-12) 4. Commands a hierarchy of demons. (Eph. 6:10-12) 5. Masquerades as "an angel of light." (2 Cor. 11:14-15) 6. Plans to steal, kill and destroy. (John 10:10) 7. Rules the masses outside God’s protection. (Eph. 2:1-3) 8. Keeps seeking an "opportune time" to tempt us. (Luke 4:13) 9. Tries to hide the actual truth about our God. (2 Cor. 4:3-4) 10. Offers counterfeit promises he can't fulfill. (Gen. 3:4-5) 11. Twists Scriptures to fit his purposes. (Gen. 3:1-5) 12. Will suffer the fate he deserves. (Revelation 20:10) “...be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day.... "Stand therefore, having girded your waist with [God's] TRUTH, having put on the breastplate of RIGHTEOUSNESS, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of PEACE; above all, taking the shield of FAITH with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of SALVATION, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the WORD of GOD; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints." Ephesians 6:10-17 "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary, the devil, walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.” 1 Peter 5:8 "Therefore submit to God.' Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands [REPENT], you sinners; and purify your hearts.... Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up." James 4:7:10 “...do not sin: do not let the sun go down on your wrath, nor give place [lest you give a foothold] to the devil." Ephesians 4:26-27 "And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death." 1 Revelation 12:11

Jung for me was more of a reliable go to and reality of the self or atman while in the flesh than Jesus could ever be. Jesus is all heresay yet helpful but jung to me is a tangible philosophy that touches my heart profoundly read and listening to his writings and there’s tons! Jesus to me was a symbol or a game of telephone that got to be more folklore than written truths . Jung was both loving and unforgiving because he was most likely tapped into the divine self more than most and lived very close to truth which is a funny thing , Jung knew everyone was living their own truth or perceived realities and he was one of the most open minded excepting men I’ve ever read about which makes him a great image for a divine forgiving nature which we all know as the folklore of Jesus

I've read some books on Jung, but I still don't understand. How do you do shadow work, how do you know if you're projecting your shadow. Do you think by practicing Buddhist type meditation practices ie mindfulness practice,you can get in touch with your shadow become more aware of your inner self, whatever that really means. I think modern life does get in the way of being mindful being in the moment, being in the here and now, as opposed to what seems to happen most of the time. You are here and now in your body, but the mind is usually somewhere else thinking about other things, millions of miles away

@@pereraddison932 it sounds easy, but if a lot of the shadow is unconscious how can you become aware of it. Are you talking about being aware of our faults, failings and inadequasies. Or is it about for example when you believe yourself to be a kind person but when someone pushes your buttons too much you find yourself erupting in anger. But how do you know if you have a lot of suppressed anger or could that just be another bad habit

The Christ cannot be a symbol of the Self or God-Self because it sets up a standard to which no human can attain. The Christ is an ideal. It has no flesh or blood or shadow. Thus the Christ is in a perpetual state of warfare against the Anti-Christ until such a time as both are understood to be mere psychological states through which we grow and thus, in time, outgrow. To tell the caterpillar what it shall be someday does no good whatsoever. The clear light and the silence will speak for themselves. "The war is ended. Now we must face the peace and learn what it means to live "on earth as it is in heaven."
