Man's weakness should enable us to getting out of the way so that God's glory can be more clearly manifest. Paul could not leave it at weakness alone, but a combination of humble obedience and God's revealed power. "My message and my preaching were not with persuasive words of wisdom, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, so that your faith would not rest on men’s wisdom, but on God’s power" 1 Cor. 2:4-5.

I am slightly uncomfortable at this, not because I think St Paul is wrong, but because I think his point is that God works through and despite his weakness, not that weakness qualifies one to be a leader. Obedience to God is what qualifies one to be a leader.
