I never cared about them back in the day as a teen ,but after revisiting them as an adult I've done a complete 180 and really come to love them. Picked up the entire back catalogue and looking forward to the new one coming out soon! Stryper rock!

@@mkdawson1908 For the most part that's very true, but there are actually a lot of 80s acts, (and individual players with new acts) who are still releasing amazing material. You should check out some of the newer albums by Winger, Lillian Axe, George Lynch's The End Machine, Hardline, Enuff Z 'Nuff, and Ronnie Romero's Lords Of Black to name just a few. Lots of great albums out there waiting to be discovered!

I remember as a kid my friend wore a Stryper THWTD T-shirt to school and the teacher made him change his shirt. It was a Christian school. The parents used to tell us. Not mine but other parents would tell me that wouldn’t let their kids listen to that music because rock n roll and heavy metal was music of the devil. The more someone told me not to listen to Stryper. The more I listened to their music. I told them listen to the lyrics. The lyrics is what makes the music Christian. Stryper has been my favorite band since 1985.

You can always tell if a band is cool by the crew the hire. We share a rehearsal space with Stryper. Even though we have the exact size rehearsal space and had their bumblebee gear everywhere in the hall...they interrupted our rehearsal saying their bus driver hit our singers car. Then asked me to move my car so they could load in better. One thing I've learned in life is that you are whoever you surround yourself with. Plus the drummer was still wearing Affliction shirts in 2024. I can't solve every problem.

@@donmcc6573 I'm simply pointing out a fact. I've been a Stryper fan since their beginning and saw them in concert on their tour for that album. It had not occurred to me, however, that they never mention Christ in the song until I heard her little speech before the beginning of the song when she says that "she" will beat the devil. I know what she "should" mean by that, but, for all I know, she truly thinks that it is up to her to defeat the enemy and, if that is the case, she needs it pointed out to her that it is Christ who has defeated the devil for us. Too many Christians live as if it is up to them to accomplish what only Christ can and what Christ already has accomplished. As for the Muslim comment, is it not true? There is nothing that is said or sung in that entire video that a Muslim could not say/sing out loud with gusto. This is problematic. If Christ is not preached, then what is the point? I get that, in that context, everyone knew what she was talking about, but that video clip alone is completely unhelpful and, given her little speech, could even lead people to lean on self rather than on Christ. If you are a believer, the magnification of Christ's name should be your desire and you should have no problem with what I am saying.
