I’m here to tell you Chris, the Zelda trailer showed us basically nothing that we didn’t know about already. One relatively small detail + the title of the game. But I gotta say, I am a bit worried about the game. I don’t doubt the devs, they must have cooked up a lot to take ~5 years to develop it, but given that it takes place in the same world as BOTW, I wonder how they can maintain the same level of mystery and exploration in a reused world that almost everyone who’s gonna play it has played in already. My thought is either they put a significant amount more into the story this time, or they changed a lot of smaller details in the world. Which one I’m not sure, but they’ve definitely done more than what any of the teaser trailers imply they’ve done. The original BOTW spent a similar amount of time in development and this time around they have all those assets to reuse and repurpose, so I expect there’s a lot more to digest than what they have shown.

so engage was apparently done for a while and was meant for the 30th anniversary before covid happened, which makes it... a lot more acceptable as a celebration vs an actual mainline game. it feels like a spiritual successor to the original fe:warriors. ike and lucina are their heroes brave and legendary versions respectively, which... as someone who actually does love heroes and the heroes ocs, its disheartening to have this game just kinda take those two designs, that core concept of summoning heroes... and leave everything else behind. i deeply want a console game with the heroes original lore, and this game essentially just shot it dead in the water. it's going to take a lot of convincing on the game's part to get me to buy it, tbh. the thing im hoping for, though, is that we get another fe direct out of this like we did in 2016 (2017?) when they announced both heroes and echoes. lots of little things have been adding up and pointing to an fe4 remake, and apparently toothpaste boy was leaked alongside a supposed fe4 remake. so. hopefully we do get that and also the artstyle isn't complete ass. also my current theory about the boom in farming sims is that its two years after the pandemic started, that's enough time for the indie folks who got inspired by the boom in cottagecore stuff to finish their games, and now we're just getting all the games birthed from that trend

Nothing but red flags when it comes to the new fire emblem. Looks like a gacha game.
