Thank you! Cannabich is my favourite of the Mannheim composers. Not performed or recorded much - he deserves to be heard more.

Cannabich I have heard of and his music is great but he’s underrated but he carried on the Mannheim style and the birth of the symphony and Baroque was left with those who still preferred it. I would welcome more recordings of Cannabich’s music, especially by the period instrument bands now. ❤ Thanks Pau at least he was a friend of Mozart who admired his music.

Great post! You state "[Cannabich] composed his last symphony in 1794 in Vienna, where the unfinished autograph score, numbered 73, remains..." Do you know the library that would hold this manuscript by any chance and the shelf no, if possible? I'm curious. Thank you for this great post!
