The fact that I grew up on CHH and God has allowed me to be where I'm at right now is insane. I never thought I would hear such a personal inspiration like Lecrae ever say my name. It truly affirms where I need to go and how God is taking me there.

We alive over here... 😂 - For real though, I feel it depends how you look at it. You all had some amazing success however different seasons comes and so it may look different from your view at the moment. Bryann T is doing more than anyone I have ever seen in the genre in a while and continuously setting the bar higher year by year for the last few years. As well another thought from my perspective running a Christian Hip Hop outlet our audience and music submissions has grown in volume year by year showing a larger demand however more online than in person. To me a key to having more CHH events and demand for the genre is if the church as a whole realizes CHH isn't just for kids however for all age groups 💯

Everyone in Christian rap doing the same thing. And if they're not, they're trying to be the "family friendly" version of "secular" pop artists. I’m feeling like, the smaller artists are the ones you also need to listen to, I’m thinking like, Jude Barclay, Miles Minnick, Mike Teezy, The One Keon, Peabod, Swaizy, and many others, these people drop more often than the 116 people, and they’re really good too, I recommend them. Nothing against 116, they’re making longer songs, but these artists with less than hundreds of thousands of followers are making shorter songs more often.

I think a lot of the reason Christian hip hop is slowing down is because the style of the artist implementing Jesus into their music, as in it’s hard to reach newer generations because the style or sound of it, I feel like in some way we need some Christian artist to make music to be relevant to music right now, as in the style of Beats and flows, all while not taking other secular artist style, which is hard and why we need a wave of creative people to create music that is relevant and matches 2021s style of hip hop… (Which is kinda what hulvey and wande are doing in a way) I feel like if a person lets say loves that new Hyper Pop “Rage Beats” like Trippie Redd or Playboi Carti, if you look, there isn’t any Christian Artist making music in that area, so therefore people go to those big Secular artist and are filled with the wrong things such as money, drugs, sex, and murder… I think we need someone to do that while also not taking Carti’s sound… But it’s still alive like you said, and I hope it continues and even grow bigger over the time being :)
@slxbeats81463 жыл бұрын
OMGGGGGGGGG you literal type the thoughts out of my mind.💯yeah that's the same thing I'm saying. Because I'll quicker listen to a gospel that has modern beat style. Such as like trippy red, juicy wrld would rap on than an old back in times 90s or 80s gospel beat style. And yeah, they ain't have to copy secular artist flows or anything like that but create a new their own style, flows and so fort...

I was a youth in the '80s and still work with youth today, and I am a musician. The big question I think is, "What do you want the music you make to accomplish?" I’m currently reading a book called the unstuck church and it explains the cycles that ministries typically go through. I think CHH is maintaining but it has to be rebranded or relaunched in order to get to a place of sustained healthy growth, which it would then be profitable in outreach as well as financially.

Jesus is your way to heaven Believe in him and you will have life after death. He shed his blood for your sins to be forgiven.

I feel like CHH is in two different categories.. those who just say plainly the message which to some may sound too “churchy” and then those creatives who through metaphor and a bit more thought create songs that sound good to everyone and they go “That’s CHH?” That’s dope and Christ spoke in parables a lot so that those who wanted the deeper meaning could seek it..

I agreed with lecraes comment just think it’s crazy how he didn’t mention datin album “CHH ain’t dead” that was a legendary album where a bunch of Artists came together, and lecrae didn’t mention it.

He didn't need to mention everything to make his point. I'm glad you got his point!
@sharkkyng77643 жыл бұрын
Right ? That was literally a legendary project in Christian Hip hop, and lecrae makes a video talking about Chh isn’t dead and never brings up s legendary moment such as last year when Chh artists came together to make that album
@sharkkyng77643 жыл бұрын
@@aubthrive he never said lecrae “needed to mention everything” but that collaborative project was legendary and it fit in perfectly to the conversation. Not bringing that up is just crazy. But either way, it’s not criticizing lecrae man, no need to get worked up I’m sure @ Michael was just curious as I and many other people Im sure was.

Lecrae we appreciate the great insight that hip hop is not dead. Secondly we wish the best while on your personal tour and with maverick city that will be legendary, but we are awaiting the last episode of food and questions with you and mrs. moore. We can assure you that it will appreciated / wanted.

There’s only one word to describe this. A very important word called “growth.” Life is a journey, and I really appreciate seeing the maturity in certain individuals, because it gives me hope and inspiration. Thank you, Lecrae. Keep up the good work, sir. God bless you.

I was listening to the Dove awards 2021 and it touched me to hear people talk about Christian Hip Hop isn't dead and sharing their testimony. It truly blessed me because CHH really helped me grow in my relationship and understanding of Christ.

I grew up listening to all of the gospel rap crews, T Bone wss one of 🐐. I stopped paying attention because i felt like a lot of the newer ones were too incognito and watered down. I want to HEAR and SEE and FEEL the difference between our music and the world. Great work crae
