The fact that I grew up on CHH and God has allowed me to be where I'm at right now is insane. I never thought I would hear such a personal inspiration like Lecrae ever say my name. It truly affirms where I need to go and how God is taking me there.

We alive over here... 😂 - For real though, I feel it depends how you look at it. You all had some amazing success however different seasons comes and so it may look different from your view at the moment. Bryann T is doing more than anyone I have ever seen in the genre in a while and continuously setting the bar higher year by year for the last few years. As well another thought from my perspective running a Christian Hip Hop outlet our audience and music submissions has grown in volume year by year showing a larger demand however more online than in person. To me a key to having more CHH events and demand for the genre is if the church as a whole realizes CHH isn't just for kids however for all age groups 💯

Its not dead... its just unorganized. Once we start coming together and having some real discipleship within the community it will change. Besides back then, the hunger for God was authentic and the main goal was to reach the lost.. not just 'Make a Hit" I do believe pride is a contributor to it as well. But as far as impact its not the same....

@@jeremiahprevilus Yep, I agree. We need more word based rap, you know like it should be in the first place. Flexin about clothes, cars, people place and things, have NO PLACE in Christian rap. The world sells that lifestyle. How else you call yourself fishing for the Lord when all I get out of your vid is you flexin like any other rapper. These Christian rappers have no power cause they haven't discovered the power of fasting. It's there that God reveals THE PLAYBOOK. Y'all on the bench, picking lint out your belly buttons while all the satanic artists got it RAININ souls in hell and you content cause your bills are on autopay. What souls? Y'all were put here FOR SUCH A TIME AS THIS but if you have no Holy Ghost power, yeah the world LOVE YOU...cause you ain't gon have they demons jumpin into the pigs. You need POWER for that. Everybody thinks Christian rappers are cute wanna bes that couldn't make it in the secular world. Are they right? What do we have that they should want? Are we doing a good job of sharing THE GIFT or is it a joke?

@@jeremiahprevilus Also, when a lost soul gets through listening to a Christian rap song or vid they should be convicted to draw closer to Him not work on their ig image cause they wanna 'look' like the fly Christian. 🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶 Cause you can wash your flesh but you can't hide your dirty heart Cause it'll show itself as your life falls apart But you could get it cleaned by the One Who made you and once that's done you'll see that his love is true We were created in His image and likeness You CANT decide one day that you might just Pick ANYBODY to fulfill your needs Cause it'll never work So get a grip please And you can run From person to person Pleasure to pleasure Seeking and searching For something that will NEVER BE Cause without God You will ALWAYS be empty Your a vessel that God needs to fill Or else you'll always have a self-destructive will So take a taste of His goodness and you'll see That you should be down with the OG...OD...and you KNOW that's right 💯💕 🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶 God gave me that 20 years ago and it's just as powerful today. I wish there were no photo shoots and all that stuff for Christian artist. The focus should be on the Word, but You gotta be listening to Him to know that. Thats where the commercialization and flesh and pride comes in and kills any power that may have been there to save. It gets smothered by...filthy rags. If you look up the original text...it's the equivalent of a NASTY DIRTY USED TAMPON. That's what He sees when you're up on stage dancin sweating around knowing DANG WELL that you're pushing MORE YOU instead of Him. #Selah

I'm still jammin out to that late 2010s stuff ya'll were putting out. But there isn't much out there helping the masses like it used to be. That theology heavy - worship filled sauce! Bring it back! Yeah, you can't sacrifice the art, but you can't sacrifice the theology either. You had a sweet mix. I feel like I had to find that stuff in the underground again to get that kind of quality.

Everyone in Christian rap doing the same thing. And if they're not, they're trying to be the "family friendly" version of "secular" pop artists. Instead of Travis Scott, try KB. • Instead of Megan Thee Stallion, try Wande. • Instead of Swae Lee, try Swoope (or anyone else trending on Rapzilla). The whole industry needs to be more conscious in how it reaches new audiences. Which is exactly what I'm gonna do.

I’m feeling like, the smaller artists are the ones you also need to listen to, I’m thinking like, Jude Barclay, Miles Minnick, Mike Teezy, The One Keon, Peabod, Swaizy, and many others, these people drop more often than the 116 people, and they’re really good too, I recommend them. Nothing against 116, they’re making longer songs, but these artists with less than hundreds of thousands of followers are making shorter songs more often.

I think a lot of the reason Christian hip hop is slowing down is because the style of the artist implementing Jesus into their music, as in it’s hard to reach newer generations because the style or sound of it, I feel like in some way we need some Christian artist to make music to be relevant to music right now, as in the style of Beats and flows, all while not taking other secular artist style, which is hard and why we need a wave of creative people to create music that is relevant and matches 2021s style of hip hop… (Which is kinda what hulvey and wande are doing in a way) I feel like if a person lets say loves that new Hyper Pop “Rage Beats” like Trippie Redd or Playboi Carti, if you look, there isn’t any Christian Artist making music in that area, so therefore people go to those big Secular artist and are filled with the wrong things such as money, drugs, sex, and murder… I think we need someone to do that while also not taking Carti’s sound… But it’s still alive like you said, and I hope it continues and even grow bigger over the time being :)

OMGGGGGGGGG you literal type the thoughts out of my mind.💯yeah that's the same thing I'm saying. Because I'll quicker listen to a gospel that has modern beat style. Such as like trippy red, juicy wrld would rap on than an old back in times 90s or 80s gospel beat style. And yeah, they ain't have to copy secular artist flows or anything like that but create a new their own style, flows and so fort...

I was a youth in the '80s and still work with youth today, and I am a musician. The big question I think is, "What do you want the music you make to accomplish?" Personally, I could never talk about the waves that rock our boats without talking about the One who walks on water or can tell the storm to "Be still". BTW - Stephen Wiley and Michael Peace were way ahead of their time. "Bible Break" taught me the books of the Bible and I can still "rap" it today🙂....Luv ya Lecrae, Keep it Jesus!

I agree with what he said about how artists need to be allowed to be individuals, if they’re told to be like an artist who isn’t a Christian rapper, what’s the difference?

I’m a poet I like to call myself. But when I listen to your music I feel like I have a calling to release Christian rap. I’ve done a few songs already. I do everything from home. Unfortunately a lot of and things have made my situation worse so I can’t afford studio time.. my laptop just broke and stuff and I’m unemployed due to my disease called ulcerative colitis.. so I’m just stuck in this hole trying dog out.. but in pain almost everyday. I wish I could peruse my dream of rap I feel like if I was given the chance I would shine.

I’m 51 years old and still support and listen to CHH. I’m even a DJ for a CHH group called Kin-Folk and we love The Lord Jesus Christ and this art! CHH ain’t dead so keep riding around town listening to this Jesus music! Lo I know that was corny if you caught that.

I’m currently reading a book called the unstuck church and it explains the cycles that ministries typically go through. I think CHH is maintaining but it has to be rebranded or relaunched in order to get to a place of sustained healthy growth, which it would then be profitable in outreach as well as financially.

I feel like CHH is in two different categories.. those who just say plainly the message which to some may sound too “churchy” and then those creatives who through metaphor and a bit more thought create songs that sound good to everyone and they go “That’s CHH?” That’s dope and Christ spoke in parables a lot so that those who wanted the deeper meaning could seek it..

I agreed with lecraes comment just think it’s crazy how he didn’t mention datin album “CHH ain’t dead” that was a legendary album where a bunch of Artists came together, and lecrae didn’t mention it.

Right ? That was literally a legendary project in Christian Hip hop, and lecrae makes a video talking about Chh isn’t dead and never brings up s legendary moment such as last year when Chh artists came together to make that album

@@aubthrive he never said lecrae “needed to mention everything” but that collaborative project was legendary and it fit in perfectly to the conversation. Not bringing that up is just crazy. But either way, it’s not criticizing lecrae man, no need to get worked up I’m sure @ Michael was just curious as I and many other people Im sure was.
