I don't understand how someone can grow too much in Christ to a point where they don't feel like talking about him all the time. As a matter of fact, the more you grow in him and know him in deeper levels, the more you want to share that with the world. I think if there had ever been a time we should raise the banner of JESUS high that time is now. I still love the old Lecrae.

Hopped on the Lecrae train since Gravity when I was 13. As the years went I was always surprised when people were upset with him for collaborating with nonChristians and going mainstream. I only ever interpreted that as Lecrae bringing the Gospel to the world. I think going mainstream has pulled him away from certain core values, but it doesn’t change the fact that he’s the same brother-in-Christ since Real Talk. I disagree with Lecrae in many areas, but he’s still got my love and support.

The feeling about Lecrae's transition is received differently by those who started out with him from the After the Music Stops and Real Talk albums. The content then was mainly appealing to the Christians but Like you have said the new content was now going out to everyone and not just Christians.

Creezy! We met at a church you performed at in Philly several years ago when you were touring with Tedashi and Trip Lee. That was a surprise birthday gift for my daughter and she absolutely lost her mind when she found out that I was taking her to your concert. I look forward to meeting you again brother as the Lord has used your music several times in the lives of myself and my kids lives. Pivotal, critical moments in their lives bro. Even now as I think about those moments I'm getting emotional and thanking Jesus for your musical ministry. Thanking Jesus for the alternative for my kids bro. God bless you family. Lecrae, I want to thank you bro. I started living for Christ Jesus in 2009 after watching the video for your song, “ Praying For You”. Seeing you walk in your calling while dressed the same way we were in Detroit, MI gave me fuel to do the same. Your album “Gravity” helped me get through a rough first deployment to Afghanistan 🇦🇫 2012-2013. People are moved through relatability and transparency. This video alone embodies both. We all evolve man, and I commend you for the courage it takes to evolve in the eyes of the public while growing as a husband, father and entrepreneur. That’s not easy in the least bit Fam. Keep doing your thing bro. Praying continued success for you and your family.🙏🏾

It's funny that this video popped up because after listening to 'Restored' a few times I started thinking about how you can tell how much you've grown since ' Real Talk'; the breadth of your content, your choice of words and most notably your vulnerability. It's been strengthening and a joy to see you grow in knowing who Jesus is (and is not) and shed the nature of the old you. You've exemplified many (if not all) aspects of what it is to be sanctified and to become sanctified. Amen, bro. Keep fighting the good fight. Love you.

His music has changed and many seem upset about it but I honestly believe that Lacrae's primary reach is to the unbeliever. Those of us who have been on this christian walk for a while have to remember that not everyone knows God or his word or grew up church. Many have lives in total darkness. We have to make room for seed planting that may look a little different than we're used to.

It’s really hard to process your faith being an evangelical icon since evangelicals have not been known for much nuance. It’s very black and white, all or nothing thinking, and Lecrae, I think you are bold to deconstruct, process, and think out loud about your faith while still holding onto an audience you respect like the Evangelical church that you might no longer find yourself as closely tied to spiritually or intellectually. I heard Andy’s EPs on deconstruction. I’m going through it. It’s hard. And it’s good to challenge and question and grow, but it can also be threatening to a lot of people who don’t know how to handle it due to the lack of nuance they have. So all this to say I deeply respect you, I understand a little bit what y’all go through as a new young pastor of a conservative church in the South, and I just want to affirm your journey and encourage who you are.

Learning how to be at peace exactly where I am can be really difficult when I’m comparing myself to other Christians. It’s so easy to pose as someone you’re truly not and I think Lecrae experienced this as well. As he got older, he learned to be more okay with who he is and is still being transformed by Jesus. This is super relatable and I’m super thankful you shared your story!

I will say, this video definitely gives me more clarity and empathy to his journey. Being completely honest, I’ve judged Lecrae pretty hard the last few years. I felt like he was chasing acceptance from main stream and masking it as taking the gospel to the lost. And it hurt because he was such a big part of helping me be bold and brave thru college. I drew courage from Seeing and hearing him declaring being unashamed. And his music today doesn’t necessarily invoke that same feeling. But none the less, I’m encouraged by this video because I can tell Lecrae is still pressing forward and I can see in his journey, his faith is strong. He’s just going thru the ups and downs we all do. His are just in front of the camera.

I totally agree when you say just because your a Christian does not mean your work needs to be a sermon, you have pastors, church’s, the Bible the Holy Spirit to teach an individual, the gift God gave us is to bear good fruit and by our fruit people will know who we belong to. So keep pushing Lecrae, I remember in my early walks with Christ I would listen to your music and it gave me so much strength and courage and when I had a weak moment in my life and I had back slide I remember being in an apartment with people doing drugs and they had MTV on and when your song “I’m turnt” came on I was the only one in the room going crazy like yo he made it! He did it! And everyone in the room looked at me like what?!? And I remember telling everyone that night who you were and that I’m a lover a Christ but just hit a hard path in my life. Flashback 5 years later the owner of that apartment died of an overdose. By that time I had left all of those friends and things, I became a mother and now I’m just restoring my relationship with God. Life is not perfect but with God by my side he makes it perfect! I’m thankful for your music, it’s definitely my workout playlist to keep my mind focused and it’s therapy for me to relate to other Christians who struggle on a day to day basis. I got stories for days I remember wanting to go to 116 concert here in Miami this was for your new album Anomaly, I remember for some weird reason my card was blocked that night when I went up to purchase the tickets, a vendor who worked inside came up to me and said if I worked in their booth before the show I would be able to watch the show for free, man I had the best seat in the whole place and after that I was able to pick a free shirt! I love the 116 crew and you Lecrae. Thanks again and God Bless

Thanks for the transparency. I think everyone who has a growing relationship with Jesus goes through this growth process, and it's hard to be around so many people that want a cookie cutter Christianity--especially when they never seem to go through any real struggle in life. Can't be hard on them tho.... I think a lot of us start off as well-meaning- religious zealots who don't know we're becoming Pharisees until God disrupts our small mindedness with complexity and pain.

I rept you 100% and watching you then to now I truly fell in love with your music because of the person you were before in the past. You seemed to be more confident in yourself in the older videos and being a Christian. Stay true to yourself, stay true to God I don't understand why your so embarrassed with God. PLEASE brother stay true to God because if you deny him he may deny you on judgment day and all that money and the people around you I can see it are already bringing you down if they were your friend or had your best interest they would tell you your doing the right thing touching so many hearts including mine. It hurts my heart to see you so embarrassed by God or dont like talking about him. I'm gonna pray for you... Dont let the money, fame, the music industry change you. It's no secret the Industry will turn you out so fast a Christian man with Christian beliefs they will devour you. Heck naaa...... what do I look like trying to impress y'all homie either step off or get stepped on"........ please stop worrying what critics say about Christian rapper's if you stick with Jesus you will reap a harvest. First of all I love your channel and your music second, I am a HUGE FAN I was subbed when I’m praying for you came out and third the way that you explained your thoughts were very clear and you have changed but people change and that’s how we grow as people and grow in our faith.

When you first started out it seems to me like those songs back in the days, where way more deep in theology then now.

hopefully we are always changing. It doesn't always look like people or the systems of this world may think we should look. If God likes it we should love it. If God is doing it we need to receive it

I have seen the growth. Thank you for being transparent and sharing not only your journey of your art, but your journey with your relationship with God. People can criticize about what they would like to hear more of, but you have made consistent art and helping trailblaze almost genre that didn’t exist a few decades ago.

You were who you needed to be in those moments to become who you are now and who you will be. Many of needed to see that growth. We don't get to see that much with Christian artist.

One of the many things you have taught me is that some callings for the Lord are so heavy that every day you wake up to carry them forward is a victory. Thank you for sharing your life and worthy successes, prosperity, and pain with so many people using your gifts for God. Amen to therapy for me too. Power doesn't always look like people think it should, and you have been powerful and strong in all the ways that endure. I loved your book, and am excited to hear more about your theological insights. Amen to the fact that the truth of God doesn't change and it's what we can ultimately depend on. Understanding the conversation between reformed theology and black history in a way that doesn't mute either is something I am interested in exploring too. I have found churches and seminaries where people know me the most helpful to talk about this stuff. Your encouragement has altered the course of my life more than once. We are going to be okay, keep that walk before him. Feels weird writing this on a KZbin comment. Thank you for pushing me. God bless you, brother. Thank you again.

My brother, you're the reason I started listening to hip hop. At some point, I noticed a change in your music. It wasn't about Christ anymore. Your music used to be set apart from the world, and it ministered to me. YOU used to be set apart. I know other people feel the same way, and that's why so many are speaking out against you. Some of them are just haters, but there are those like myself who speak with love. You've been blessed with a successful career and a bigger platform, but you've backed away from your humble origins. It used to be all about Him. Now it's about you. You've compromised my brother.
