And that might mean something, if the Devil literally existed, which he does not. God does not manifest itself in reality, Satan does not manifest itself in reality. The only things that make these and other spiritual beings real is the overactive imaginations of people. The more you believe, the more vulnerable you are to believing that these unreal things are real. Before you know it, you start thinking every other thing that happens is attributable to God/Jesus/angels or the devil or demons. The faster you stop believing in those things, the sooner you realize it was all never real to begin with.

We are being deceived by the word "religion." It actually has no prescriptive meaning scholars agree upon. People tend to assume the word religion applies to "theistic worldviews" and does NOT apply to "non-theistic worldviews" but there is actually no definition of the word specifying this distinction. So, when they say Secularism isn't a religious position? They have no way to actually justify this. If Christianity is "religious," so is Secularism. It cannot be empirically verified to be true, yet they believe it. It's actually self-refuting once you realize it IS a religious position while simultaneously claiming to be against religious positions.

I say yes as philosophy is very important as it leads towards one having clarity and getting to the truth. It was philosophy that was a big reason that lead me to God and brought me back to Christianity through looking into Ethics, the Moral Argument for God and etc. Now Christianity has encourage me to develop more of a deeper philosophical understanding of my faith through the study of Philosophy. Even though I am not a philosophical scholar, I do want to learn more to defend and strengthen my faith. I thank you Kyle for as well for being one of KZbinrs that encourage me on this path. Random video stumble, am athiest, but whole heartedly agree that this convention looks very cringe. I dont normally get involved in these crazy trends because I want to be able to have respect and be left alone. Im sure there's respectable people there that want to be taken seriously and share ideas and maybe make some money with their trade. But I dont want to associate closely with the teens and young adults that go there simply because they're attracted to the rebelliousness and Halloweeny aspects of it. But when its labeled satancon....what should anyone expect? Maybe that's the whole idea of the convention? While I understand the concern people have with satanic values, would their beliefs not fall under the freedom of religion? Yeah they directly and consistently contradict christian beliefs, but doesn't that happen with all other religions. Islam contradicts christianity, Christianity contradicts buddishm, etc. yet they are and should be represented in society and schools. And not all religions are theistic, as seen with before mentioned Buddhism. I think that satanism should not get any special treatment legally, either in persecution or in endorsement (as long as what they teach is not age inappropriate). I think if people take offense to their teachings, then they should oppose them while staying within the legal framework instead of trying to censor them. Btw I'm not satanist, I've only done the fighter's guild quests.
