I was there with my son Gabriel, and have no doubt that Christian Scott is a modern jazz genius, and he is only 27... Terrific!!!
@westofthetracks12 жыл бұрын
The original by Thom Yorke is the title song on an album whose cover shows an ancient king standing at the seaside trying to control the rising water. Scott and his people experienced Katrina. Yorke's songwriting strips bullshit away like paint from whitewashed walls, and Scott's playing is as intimate and devastating as Yorke's voice, yet opens wider, from individual powerlessness to a collective requiem hymn for all people and lands taken by the waves or erased at the command of money & kings.

I don't like a few aspects about Christian Scott, but I love his tone. Especially the ending, 4:50 to the end is just TOO GOOD.

I did not expect this to be a cover of Thom Yorke's song when I clicked on it. I was pleasantly surprised. I'm sure this would make even Thom blush.

@DavidChoiDrumz Its when you change your key (;P), transposing whatever you're playing into that new key. A little after 3:00, when the piano player starts playing by himself, is when it occurs.

Anyone know how the piano is getting that sound? Is it just tissue paper on strings?

Danny Short probably just normal paper. I would assume tissue paper would be too thin and not have as much rattle.
