Another excellent video. I love your content and style of presentation. Just a couple of points about the graphics, though: Latin for apple/evil is malus, not marus; and the ἰχθύς/wheel one might have worked better with a lunate sigma, which was the standard form at the time.

Awesome video! Thank you so much. I heard on another Orthodox program that the peacock is also a symbol of the cherubim because Ezekiel 10:12 describes them as being covered in eyes and the peacock feather looks how the early church imagined the cherubims whole body looked

Thank you for an excellent, grounded video about the various Christian symbols. I would like to know if you could please point me to a scholarly resource that attests to the usage of the Incthus Wheel in early Christianity? I have searched for such resources, but can't really find anything that is peer-reviewed. Could you please assist me?

Phoenix is also a Jewish symbol. Chol is mention in Job. (In Egypt it was Ben Ben, which is name of capstone of perfection of the pyramid (pyre- amid fire within) (the stone the builders refused- originally Dawid because everyone though he was Canaanite because of a switcheroo on Yishai) the Ben Ben stone. In Creation mythology the chol the phoenix is the only animal that didn't drink/eat the fruit of knowledge that they gave all the animals. Phoenicia was Land of Phoenix as well I think.

Very interesting. But I've been told other interpretations for these symbols. I read that IHS can also be an acronym for "Iesus Hominum Salvator" (Jesus, Saviour of Mankind). I've also read that the peacock's flesh was believed to be incorruptible, and so it was used as a symbol of immortality. A minor correction: the word for apple and evil is "malus", not "marus". Continue the great work!

You forgot St. Brighid's Cross, a Celtic pagan symbol which looks like a cross that was originally a symbol of the sun.
