At the annual Presidents Summit, Christian von Koenigsegg gives his take on how to take on a challenge with all odds against you. Like many young men, Christian was fascinated by machinery as a boy and even dreamed about creating his perfect sports car. In stark contrast to the rest of us, however, Christian actually went ahead and turned that dream into reality - at just 22 years of age. But how exactly did a young Swedish guy build a business that got people to buy a supercar from a small, obscure Swedish car manufacturer?
This is Mr. Koenigsegg’s story about drive, resilience, courage, and the joy of the process.

How many heads of business willingly, candidly, and PROUDLY speak about their family giving them the support, help, and opportunities to succeed? CvK is probably the only automotive CEO alive today who not only talks about those things, but actively pays homage to those who have helped him over the years and credits the engineers he employs with bringing all his crazy ideas to life. And wouldn't you know it - his legend has not been diminished one bit by his discussion of the help he got from his father or the role his wife has played as COO or the crazy ideas that the senior engineers have come up with over the years. In fact, I'd go so far as to argue that the Koenigsegg family brand - and CvK's status as a mad genius - has only gotten even MORE legendary BECAUSE CvK continually highlights the pivotal roles that everybody around him has played for the past quarter century. He never says "I" unless it was his personal idea that HE manifested himself. It's always "we". And it's a really beautiful thing to see.
