I am quite convinced that one day, highly rated as she already is, Christiane Kubrick will come to be seen as a great artist in her own right - and not just because she was 'the wife of Stanley Kubrick'. I first had this intuition at least 20 years ago, when I first became acquainted with her work. It is astonishing, vibrant, intense and formalistically imaginative. Absolutely her own style. Her loving grasp of the intricacies of nature, of light and colour is acute. A great creator, and a key member of a great creative family.

Love the one of the squash/pumpkins and the flowers with box of dried fruit. Beautiful work. And the brick wall with the birds...so many great paintings.

A very talented painter and draughtswoman, with a bold, colorful style all her own. It would have been interesting to see some of the works that featured in her husband's films ('A Clockwork Orange' and 'Eyes Wide Shut'), but what we see here is just as beguiling and rewarding.

Beautiful work Christiane. Brilliant. I met your Brother in 2018 at the apple store in Regent street. He signed my Matthew Modine Full Metal Jacket Diary book on Stanleys behalf. I still have that book. Bless you,.

Loved this video!! This video was so awesome and interesting! I’m a big Stanley Kubrick fan and it was so nice to see Christiane Kubrick’s video! I enjoyed her singing in Paths of Glory and was even incredible to see her passions behind painting. Thanks for uploading this!

After a meeting with Stanley, at the time Full Metal Jacket was being edited, I was tasked with photographing Christiane's paintings for her book. I recall how vivid the colours were. Also the scale of the works. I used a Wista 10x8 field camera which was mounted on a dolly track in one of the rooms at the house. Christiane was always very gracious and kind.

Wonderful film, whatever its source. Her work is extraordinary - amazing use of colour and her technique is incredible. 🐧

The source is the family who made this film with and for Christiane.

@@HowardBerry That would explain the name Harlan turning up in the end credits - that was her maiden name. As her brother is Jan Harlan, I assume the film is the work of various nieces, nephews, etc. Thank you for sharing this. Have a safe and interesting season. ☺

A fascinating insight into an exceptional woman. I'd love to hear more about her process; maybe a sequel could follow one painting from inception to completion?

The closing credits indicate it is "Solitude" by Duke Ellington, as arranged and performed by Ben Harlan on clarinet, accompanied by Dominic Harlan on piano.
