I was a X'n for 45 years. Hardcore. Missionary to the lost. 3yrs of bible college. The whole nine yards. I started seriously questioning my faith in 2015 and now consider myself agnostic moving toward atheism. My wife of 27 years is supportive, thank god, although she is still a believer, but wavering herself. I was very worried and anxious about coming out with this "new me" and I'm still pretending to be a X'n with my family. I live in a bible belt and generational christianity runs rampant in my family, so suddenly saying I don't believe in god is seriously frightening.

Congrats on seeing the light. I grew up with church. I left religion a few decades ago when I started living on my own. I told my family that I have no interest discussing religion with them. I respect everyone's belief, but in my house, no prayers and no proselytizing. I spent many years learning the history of religions and when anyone challenges me on religion, I challenge them on history and scientific impossibilities found in the bible. Noah's flood scientifically impossible in dozens of ways.

Yes it’s terrifying at first but once we break through that fear, it’s WELL WORTH IT and so FREEING and so wonderful to find REAL FREEDOM,REAL HAPPINESS, AND REAL JOY…and not having to fake it all the time…Christianity is FAKE and the REAL definition of faith and the REALITY of it is PRETENDING to believe things and PRETENDING to know things that you REALLY don’t know or believe…it’s ALL a PSYCHOLOGICAL DELUSION. You’re DEFINITELY STRONGER THAN YOU THINK…Christianity stole our REAL POWER AND COURAGE from us….it pounded it into our head’s that we we’re powerless, useless, and miserable nasty sinners so we need Jesus to be our strength and power…it’s all LIES… PLEASE GO BACK AND READ THE COMMENT THAT I LEFT…. I think it will help you when you read some of my story…YOU ARE STRONG WITHIN YOUR OWN SELF!!! We’ve seen and found the REAL TRUTH and we CAN’T UN-SEE ANY OF THE REAL TRUTH EVEN IF WE TRY…THERE’S NO WAY TO UN-SEE ANY OF IT. Thing’s will turn out for the BEST FOR YOU and you’ll find much peace, happiness, and joy just like all of us who have deconstructed so don’t worry…you’re on the right track and on the road to REAL TRUE FREEDOM. Peace be with you my friend, my brother. P.S. I was an Evangelical Pentecostal Fundamentalist for over 30 year’s and turned Atheist 20 years ago…it was literally the Bible and Christianity itself that turned me into an Atheist….the god of the Bible is an EVIL MYTHOLOGICAL, FICTIONAL PSYCHOPATH character and the Bible is the MOST EVIL IMMORAL BOOK that’s EVER been written…it makes Stephan King’s horror movies and books look like Mickey Mouse cartoons and Superman comic books!!! In the last 20 years of my Atheism I have found MUCH MORE love, kindness, caring, oneness, and like- mindedness from Atheists, Agnostics, and Pagan’s than I EVER DID from over 30 years of being associated with Christian people… what WE HAVE IS REAL!

Great show again bud. When I was a Christian I always had trouble with the homosexuality stance but I had to give in to the thought of "God knows best..." Now, no longer being a Christian, I cringe when I think about the MILLIONS of lives Christianity mentally, physically, and Spiritually tortured because they were/are a homosexual. In the mean time we see rampant homosexuality within Christianity, especially in the Catholic church done by the LEADERS. Christianity is one of the worst concoctions of man that has ever been laid upon the human race...and I used to be a part of it full in 100%. Damn. I was so excited to hear this interview and couldn’t wait to get home from grocery shopping. Oh yeah… I remember the gaslighting…everything was always my fault so it was always a mind F**K…. I either didn’t have enough faith or had sin in my life, I wasn’t ever good enough,or some other DELUSIONAL BS and those were the reasons why god wasn’t answering my prayers and why my 2 kid’s are dead! Don’t forget that religion is also slavery…a friggin NIGHTMARE!!! Brady has potty mouth just like me LOL 😱I swear like a sailor and have to try really hard to keep my comments family friendly but it ain’t easy because I’m so pissed off about religion…love you Brady and Tim! 🌹🌹🌹🌹I just started listening so I’m probably gonna have a whole bunch of edits. I LOVE IT, LMAO… Tim gaslights god!!! GREAT JOB Tim….I’m gonna steal that from you to tell other people… If Yahweh loved his people so much and took such good care of them, they wouldn’t have turned to other god’s! You hit the nail right on the head Tim! Here’s some food for thought that I find quite interesting….Christians must find themselves in such a miserable debacle because they believe that their Jesus allegedly defeated the devil 👿 at the cross but yet they have to keep putting on this so-called ARMOR OF GOD every day to fight off Satan and all his demons. WTF??? So which is it??? Did Jesus defeat Satan or not??? If he did then there would be no need to put on the armor (common friggin sense!) As an X-Evangelical Pentecostal, all I use to hear was Satan and his demons were always attacking Christian’s, there’s demons and devils flying around EVERYWHERE and they are in EVERYTHING and on EVERYTHING and they are out to get us and make our life miserable…if you have a flat tire it’s because Satan wants you to be late for church or late for work and you’re sick with Cancer because Satan wants you dead and in hell because god turned you over to him because of your reprobate mind and sin for masturbating and Satan this and demons that and on and on and on… What a friggin shit-show and I remember how exhausting it all was…So apparently the armor of god was made of tinfoil and not made of steel because everyone was always under attack from Satan and demons and not winning the fight! So I guess their Jesus didn’t defeat Satan after all….yeah quite a conundrum and debacle to be in so they must all be going to hell in a hand basket because their Jesus didn’t do shit! Sorry Tim but the whole Christian DELUSION just pisses me off and destroyed my 2 marriages and left me with 2 dead kid’s that I use to pray for continuously from the second they were born for Jesus to watch over them, protect them and always keep them safe but my prayers were left unanswered… my beautiful sweet Heather passed away ironically on 9/11- 2016 at age 38 and my beautiful handsome sweet Jacob passed away 2 years years ago at age 35. Nope Jesus hasn’t helped me through any of this…I’ve gone through these tragedies and trauma totally alone because I now have a sound mind and have been getting through all of this with my own powerful strength. I’m so GRATEFUL that I’m not still a Christian going through all of this because I would have slit my own throat! All I would have heard from them would be, “God’s ways are higher than our ways, it’s all in god’s plan, your 2 kid’s are in hell, you didn’t have enough faith in god for him to take care of your kid’s (so it would be my fault because I wasn’t a good enough mother), god’s ways are higher than our way’s, god is testing your faith like he did with Job…and on and on having to listen to those insane people! You know what I mean Tim and you know the drill…yeah I would have offed myself by slitting my own throat if I would have still been in that CULT and had to listen to all of that.🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮 Jesus didn’t defeat Satan at the cross so he’s TRULY a failure and didn’t keep his promises so he’s also a liar. I hope Tim and Brady read my comments. Great video…love you both! 🌹🌹🌹🌹

As someone who wasn't indoctrinated at a young age, and so never thought it was any more real than Santa Claus from age 5, Christianity has an "Emperor's New Clothes" vibe. Everyone knows there's nothing there, but is afraid to be the first one to say so. The USA is particularly slow in shaking off the illusion, because that early indoctrination is so hard to shake off. I'm originally from the UK, where most people don't pay religion much heed, and only see the inside of a church for weddings and funerals, and not always then. As a choirboy, nearly 50 years ago, I frequently sang in services where the choir outnumbered the congregation, so it isn't a new trend, at least from my experience.

Hell yeah, Star Trek is a far more useful set of stories from which to derive moral narratives than the Bible. I have my problems with the newer series but they are making an active effort to be more representative than previous iterations. And there's no contradiction there as with a religious belief. Star Trek in the past was "of it's time" on many issues even if it was always progressive. But the fact that it's a show about humanity means that it can update itself alongside humanity. When you have some fixed, inerrant god, you can't do that without falling into obvious contradictions and outright falsehoods as progressive christianity so often does.

I don't what kind of Baptist church you had, but it just sounds awful!!
@patrickwoods22132 жыл бұрын
Do you really think that was the only reason why he left? Christians need to quit thinking that the only reason people leave the faith is because of a bad experience. This is an old chestnut that needs to be squashed. The reason main reason why people leave, is because Christianity simply makes no sense. It’s as simple as that. If someone has a bad experience, it often leads to questioning - which forces you to re-examine things. And after you re-examine it, the brainwashing wears off, which allows you to see religion for what it really is-a manmade construct. If the only problem with Christianity was bad Christians- then I would still be a Christian!
