Yeah, that makes sense. In prototype 1, even Alex consumed Elizabeth Greene, he wasn't able to control the infects, but the Supreme Hunter could. Also, the Supreme Hunter's original plan was betraying Elizabeth and hiding itself from Gentek and Blackwatch by using Alex. However, if the Supreme Hunter parts and Alex's parts were somehow combined, then their thinking would be combined.

It’s a lot of fair points and I have to admit Alex in prototype 2 is a little too far from the Alex we liked. However the comics did explain this change, and if they tried to show that a little in prototype 2 then maybe we wouldn’t feel as bad as we do about Alex in Prototype 2. But your theories would be cool to explore, and with how the prototype world is it doesn’t seem out of bounds or character

There's another fan theory that says the Alex Mercer in 2 is one of Mercer's lackeys in disguise, which explains why he didn't have access to the more powerful weapons and devastators. Mercer wanted to test Heller's loyalty and how far he'd go to stop Blackwatch, Gentek, and the Virus. So he allowed Fake Alex to impersonate him and use all his other lackeys as pawns to get Heller to choose what he does with his new "gift". Heller passed Alex's test by betraying him, and going so far as to destroy him to eradicate the virus. If 3 was made, the real Mercer would probably reveal himself and work with Heller to destroy any more remnants of the virus, Blackwatch and Gentek. The theory shows how much Alex thought this through. Also keep in mind the real Alex is a borderline sociopath, so sacrificing his lackeys wouldn't be out of character for him at all. As for the memories Heller gained, Alex willingly gave them to Fake Alex just in case Heller decided to betray him and would get them as a reward for passing Alex's test

@@ChristianProtossDragoon yes the theory even said that Alex mastered all of the virus' powers, including being able to shaoeshift without consumption and his Evolved were each given ONE specific mastered trait, which is evidenced by Galloway, who's hunter senses are perfected and allow her to track anyone unless its another equally powerful evolved. I would have a really awesome idea for the 3rd game that's never going to release. It was said by the developers that Alex is a sociopath. So here is my theory. What we play as Alex Mercer isn't actually the human Alex. It's the Virus that gained sentience through infecting Alex. Maybe the Virus is just thinking that it's Alex because that is the first person the Virus remembers being. After all you take the persons memories and genetic Makeup and what are we aside from our thoughts and genetics? So it's really plausible that the Virus just thinks it's Alex. The reason why it went mad in the 2nd game is that the more the Virus took over Alex personality, the more sociopathic it became, caring more about spreading itself, than actually feeling emotions and compassion. In the ending it maybe noticed that Alex mind was controling it and so it made a plan to get rid of the evil Alex by letting Heller beat and absorb Alex out of him. So the 3rd game could start off with a small bit of Blacklight regenerating somewhere, still has Alex form and memories, but Heller absorbed all of his powers and the real Alex personality. Leaving it back at square 1 bpower wise and with all souls inside of him remove aside from only the memories of Alex Mercer, the memories of a loving sister he wanted to protect. Now free and finally knowing who he really is, the Virus dons Alex face and name again and vows to become the ideal version of Alex that is an Anti hero. The new Alex realizes that Blackwatch and Gentek will keep experimenting with different Strains of him so he will have to stop them once and for all, for the sake of saving everyone. The Virus, having the memories of playing with Dana as a child will try to be the big Brother she deserves. It could be really cool when they meet and the Virus explains that Alex is dead, but he tries to embody the good that was in Alex now that Heller took the sociopathy out of him.

I Like this Idea cause it would make actual Sense beside someone being a good guy that turn into a bad guy just for the violence they couldn't really stop so I'm glad about this change for Alex Fate then the one we got Saving the World to Trying to infecting it just because of the violence of Humans a combination of Alex and the Supreme Hunter would make a better amazing choice to fit with the Story and Alex being gone only to come back but I would like to Edit the idea a bit What if Alex Came back after finding out about the virus returned and Manhattan split in different sections worrying about his sister of course he returned to the hide out only to see Her and Heller seeing him as a threat tackling him through the window as a huge Fight Erupts but see's this Mercer fighting Better than the Supreme Mercer cause of the experience he has with his skills enhanced during his time away of his agility and didn't lack the Musclemass to handle someone Like him but their abilities are different Heller: "Your gonna pay for what you did to Father" As Alex is Confused about who that even was not even understanding what's even going on or what's even talking about as Heller keeps on trying to engage as both was about to throw more Punches the 2 stop as hearing about Supreme Mercer being found somewhere else that caught Heller's Attention now he was confused who that was cause if Mercer is at a different Location who is this guy that he was fighting Alex Starts to Explained where he been and what happened during his battle after going after Randall Finding out he could had stop all of this he let it happened in the first place being betrayed by cross only to find out Cross wasn't cross it was the Supreme Hunter consuming Cross and taking his form during their battle He lost his arm when beheading The Supreme and handling the nuke with Dana Asking what happened to his arm when it was cut off Alex didn't know the answer. All he knew that he killed the supreme heller suggests he didn't actually kill the supreme and must have consumed his arm with dana explaining fully that it must had started regenerating slow and escaped the blast understanding the situation that The Alex they helped and who they fought with is just the Supreme Hunter being Alex but it's that form now but lacks the movements the real Alex Had. P.S I know this was a year ago but you got my Thumbs up 👍 and subscription :D One more thing even if Alex explained Heller still have a supicious about him either way cause of the death of his Wife and the "Death" of his Daughter including the Father

I don't really know much of anything about the symbiotes in comics unfortunately but I kinda know the origin of Anti-Venom and maybe Carnage.... well not really Carnage. I think if he consumes Carnage he would become more of an insane chaotic killer and just maybe he would have a bit more of a healing factor. If he consumes Venom, maybe it would just give him something similar to the Tendrils power. If he consumes ANTI-VENOM and somehow survives,then he would probably become the perfect cure for Blacklight but also still have some form of all his Blacklight powers.

Your idea is convincing. Honestly, if they wanted to make a Prototype 3, I would not be against them using this premise. However, your reasoning behind the inconsistent behavior of Mercer between the two games is missing some important information. In case you missed it, in that closing cutscene from Prototype 1, Mercer is across the bay, outside of Manhattan. Being free of the city, he leave to find something he never found in the city: the good in humanity. In an official comic book that explains why Mercer decided to wipe out humanity, we find out that Mercer traveled all over the world, looking for a reason to trust humanity because he wanted to be like them. But he never found it. At some point, a human gained both his trust and his appreciation, but then betrayed him for petty reasons. So, Mercer decided humanity no longer needed to exist.
