Even as a non-Catholic I don't believe this heresy. It's extremely dangerous. I'll add that (though helpful) breaking the Bible into chapters and verses has done some harm and helped truth relativism. Just my opinion

Mike gets in his own way because truth has to come from his own understanding or with his own approval. He consistently looks over, skips or tunes out evidence that contradicts his position. Confirmation bias is a deceives the everyone

It's because they don't understand the context of "believe" in the Bible. Rarely does it mean just believe like the way we believe today where you accept something as fact and that's the end of it. People used to live by their beliefs and when belief is brought up in the Bible, it also means to follow Christ. You do that by obeying him.

For what it's worth, in prayer one day, what came to me, "Nothing can take you away from me. You can leave me, but nothing can take you away." So, I take that as God is always loyal to their us. But, we also need to be loyal to Him. As with any good relationship, we need to be constantly checking on in.
