Man...I am glad you are making these videos. No offense to others, but it just seems you are down to earth and here to tell the truth about fishing. Congrats on the wins this year! Keep em coming!

I like your format of breaking it down into parts. Keeps things organized and easy to follow. Good content and very helpful. Becoming better friends with the swim jig and bladed jig is one of my learning goals this season. I've been a lipless crankbait, square bill, spinner bait guy mainly and it's time to broaden my skills.

I've actually caught bass when swimming my casting jig in before there was any swim jigs but I own swim jigs now they absolutely catch fish you might even think its a big'en until you realize a catfish just ate your jig and is rolling beside the boat get ready to wash your hands and jig 😂😮

Hi Jason great tips. I like the format of your videos. How you show with the on screen pinpointing the target areas. The only thing I would like to see is a bit more in depth breakdown of the baits and trailers. When and why you would use different types based on conditions and times of year. Keep um coming!

find the right trailer that gives it action that is equivalent to shaking the rod for skirt movement 👌

Other than my dad I have very few men I admire in today's world. You JC are one of them and have been for years. My style of fishing is literally identical to yours and we have that same single minded mindset. Looks good when it's working but we aren't gonna back down when it doesn't either. Swimming a jig has become my go to with all the fishing pressure we have locally. I slow roll deep in colder water or when they are less active. And of course up higher when they are on it good. Keep that hammer down hammer and ride it straight to top.

This is one thing I have a harder time getting them to commit on. Thanks for all the great advice Jason!! Is there any advantage in that situation of using a bladed underspin swim jig or one of those screwhead swim jigs or is that too close to a spinnerbait not as natural?
@Christiefishing2 жыл бұрын
I’m sure lot of things would have worked. Just comes down to the baits you have confidence in and the swim jig is one of mine

There's only a few channels I subscribe to, this is one of them. Question: what kind of knot do you use to go braid to floro on the swim jig set up? My concern is having a knot that knocks a rod guide insert out.
@Christiefishing2 жыл бұрын
Alberto knot

When I started swimming a jig here on the Lower Coosa, back in 1991, it was unreal. A motoroil Swamp Frog w/orange legs on a brown jig, or a white frog on a black/blue jig would get absolutely stomped most every time out. We kept it secret for a long time and won alot of money. I've seen a 6 lb bass explode on my jig, miss it, and get trapped outside, ON TOP, of a solid mat of dying December grass. I once saw a 3lb bass jump out of the water willow, clear across 2 feet of grass, and come DOWN ON IT from above. In the decades since, it has become increasingly harder to get them to stomp it like they did back then. One of the things I've found that helps is realism. I've found the FLASH of silver or gold glitter, in my skirts AND in my trailers, to be VERY effective in creating realism, and thus-bites. Naturally, in clear to stained water, black, green pumpkin, and pearl all produce good results. Likewise, in dirtier water, black and white still produce well. It's in CLEARER water, with great visibility and on still, bright, or otherwise tough days that a clear skirt with lots of gold or silver glitter really shines. Crazy Chrome, TN Shad, Silver Flash, Golden Shiner, Green Pumpkin Flash- whatever the color- as long as it has ALOT OF FLASH from silver or gold glitter and muted colors, it will work. Give this a try in your swimjig fishing. You'll be pleasantly surprised.

I mean no disrespect at all but unless you're just fun fishing on a weekday these old techniques that our dads taught us are irrelevant when it comes to tournament fishing. If you're not using FFS then be prepared to be dragged across the scales by a couple of 18 year olds who have never skipped a dock or fished a creek arm.
@jessecooper979511 ай бұрын
You still gotta be good at both. FFS is the primary technique going right now though. It's tough to beat it. I'm sure you're seeing what's going on at the Fork event right now
