Beloved Jeff's instruments. A lifetime of excellence ✨️ Thank you, brother. You sent chills through me more than once live. 🎉

The Oxblood, the TeleGib and the "Anoushka" Strat are the true gems of the collection. The Tina Turner Jackson Beck must have played only a few times...

Collector prices are always very high. Take a Fender Custom Shop Stratocaster worth $4-7K. But if Eric Clapton used it onstage or even breathed on it😅? Put a $100,000+ price tag on it!😂
@zekerivera74852 күн бұрын
Wow! I'm shocked that the Tina Turner Jackson sold for more than the "Yard-Burst" Gibson Les Paul! 350,000 vs. 320,000. In the auction it was stated that Jeff Beck used the Yard-Burst in the Yard Birds, the Jeff Beck Group AND was played by Jimmy Page and Jimi Hendrix!
@jagmark102 күн бұрын
i was shocked too. Hendrix played it many times, same with Keith Richards. probably Pete Townshend too, they were all friends. Jimmy Page, Keith Relf, i wouldn't be surprised if Eddie Phillips tried it at some point since he was playing a Gibson ES-335 around that time. Clapton played it. George Harrison might have played it too. the Yardburst was the real Holy Grail of them all and should have ended with a much higher price. someone got a great deal that day!

I suspect that the solo on Private Dancer is the most played, heard and sold of all of Jeff's recordings. "Nobody" knows it's him of course, but it must add some value for those in the know. And for his most successful session, apparently his only fee was Tina carving up his guitar!

The auctioneer here is fantastic, but whoever came up with those weak estimates really didn't understand how highly regarded Jeff Beck was
@paulrogers60372 күн бұрын
It's common. Christie's (and other auction houses) wants the prestige of saying they get multiples of auction estimates.
@douglasalexander4348Күн бұрын
It’s to attract bidders, thinking they’ll get a bargain, and as above, to make out Christie’s look amazing.
@classicraceruk1337Күн бұрын
You don’t understand auctions. The same thing happened at Dave Gilmour’s auction. The estimates are just that. They are used to bring the buyers in.
@lazykipperКүн бұрын
You clearly don't understand how auctions work. It is absolutely standard for auction houses to lowball estimates. Standard all over the world.

What is she babbling about? "The infamous oxblood". It is famous, there is no infamy about it. Tiny dancer is an Elton John song which neither Tina Turner or Jeff Beck had anything to do with. Private dancer is the song if you had bothered to do your research.

Some of them look like broken down wrecks. Are the foolish prices being paid just because they were owned by Beck? What are his old undershorts worth? The guitars were spectacular when J.B. was playing them. On their own, they're pretty ordinary.
