Unique Cornell I’m pretty sure it doesn’t have to do with satanic rituals and selling your soul lmao. It sounds stupid and cringey. The music industry has been obsessive over fame and money. As in “if you don’t act like this character, you won’t be famous.” Like Kesha for example, she had to have this drugged hipster type of look and of course get sexually assaulted for fame. Acting sexy or crazy or whatever. Of course, not being themselves leads to deep depression and anxiety. Just like Britney Spears. At least thats how it was back then. Now its getting better with artists being themselves.

@shockofthenew5 жыл бұрын
@and what about it? Sadly so true. Actually I didn't realise till recently how much control radio stations have over this kind of thing! In fact it's only since I started stanning BTS (a South Korean group) that I saw how incredibly biased/corrupt radio is. We had situations where our US digital & physical sales were at the same level as top US artists, and we had huge organised teams on twitter requesting radio play, but still got n o t h i n g. Most Requested Live ran a poll which we won with 99% so they deleted the poll and still wouldn't play them. We had fans brought to tears on the phone when they were told 'no matter what you guys do we're not interested'. And of course that has a big effect on how high they can chart. Sorry for the detour, I just thought it was relevant! I always thought radio just had to play whatever's popular, but it turns out the individual DJs have full control and operate with their own biases. No wonder so much of the mainstream is unlistenable...

i think differently. during the last decade,the importance of music videos have become stronger and stronger. and xtina's visuals these days were just not very appealing(maybe it's due to the ageism or something i dont know, but it directly affect promotion) it's so obvious that the label is definitely cutting down the budget they used to put on xtina , but i think she's not the worst case. i mean...take a look at Evanescence. but the difference here is that there's something for the label to exploit from xtina. im a very pessimistic person. thinking the label just wants to make her an icon and let the new singers step on her to gain more success. thats why RCA records get her a ppl choice award and the same time not deal with comments which trashed her reputation, for example brit calling her out and the media making her a villian. i would say that's basically the backfire from the her own label. fun fact, britney is also under rca record, how interesting is that? )

I think that's one way to look at it and a very good interpretation but the lyrics somehow speak of a larger meaning for me. It's about how girls are told from their childhood that they need to look a certain way, dress up a certain way and hence, fall in line. For example, guys trying to get Christina to stand with her boobs and ass out. And especially Demi's part - to think about "who it flatters" and God forbid if a girl knows her way back home. In the end they reassert themselves and stop bowing down to society's expectations of what is "beautiful" and "attractive". That you're good as you are.

It's not what I meant. Female empowerment songs is nothing new, it's pretty much beyonce's USP (she does it well). What I meants is that the song and video carried the message well. It left a lasting impact, both message and lyrics. In addition Christina and Demi kills it.

I know this is a Christina Aguilera music video, but this song fits the situation of Britney Spears right now very well with all that conservatorship and her being controlled eversince the beginning of her career. This shows how Christina is ALWAYS ahead of her time, she is what you can call a VISIONARY ARTIST.

Well they both started in Disney, I think Christina was able to break free...
@lamb4life4483 жыл бұрын
@@NekoPetrovsky I think that of the two, Christina is the headstrong and stubborn one. She said that in multiple interviews that she does not want to be controlled and she does not listen to what the label tells her. I have read one comment here that says, Lotus is the product of her label and that's why it's so generic. She sabotages her own image so the label can't profit from her.
@Clonehalle3 жыл бұрын
You're right about Christina. She's definitely a trailblazer and visionary. It's quite impressive ❤
@shivermetimbers61283 жыл бұрын
Because of the domestic abuse she witnessed growing up, Christina said "it made me determined to never feel helpless to a man. I would do for myself; make for myself; and that nothing was going to stop me or get in my way". Christina learned from a very early age not to trust male authority figures. That's why she fired her manager (subject of the song Fighter) and subsequently recorded Stripped. Britney, on the other hand, seemed to really trust the people around her and wasn't equipped to deal with the reality that they didn't have her best interests at heart
@jade56153 жыл бұрын
@@NekoPetrovsky Christina is not free, she is a prisoner, too. Britney disobeyed in 2007 and tried to free herself which triggered her breakdown. Once they had her in an involuntary 5150 hold, they had to make sure she would never try to escape again so that’s why there are tighter reigns on Britney, but unfortunately all of Hollywood, especially the Disney kids are ALL slaves and prisoners of the entertainment industry.

The fact that my favorite female vocalists of all time, Xtina & Demi came together for this song is a dream come true. The way that they showed male dominance so effortlessly in the music video is something that is so wrong with our society nowadays. The thing is, this music video was beautiful but it implies that Men are the only issues. THIS IS NOT TRUE! I actually get along a lot better with guys than girls because girls always made me feel insecure. I was never pretty enough or skinny enough for them. Both genders need to open their minds and find the true meaning of equality. Woman talk about men, they go to strip shows featuring male dancers and they read very sensual books. How is it that Woman are allowed to sexually harass and admire men's bodies but men are literally crushed when they say one thing about a girl's physical appearance? They have to treat us with respect, but must expect none in return? Girls can experience desire and lust and can easily take advantage of someone. WOman can hurt and bully men. Even though there will always be issues with a woman being "lesser" than men, as females we have to realize that we should not be criticizing just men, but everyone. They go through issues. They have to experience things that woman will never understand. We both need to take a stand instead of pitting genders against each other. I would have respected this video more if they talked about equality in general. I was raised by strong women and will defend my femininity till I die, but I also was raised by very strong and virtuous men who taught me to be kind and loving. We as woman are part of this (music videos) problem.

It goes so fast it’s hard to see but this girl pointed out the pizza in the background. & screenshotted it & if you slowly zoom threw it, you’ll notice the Illuminati sign , I totally understand kids drew this, but there is also a possibility, he put all the drawings in his music video for a reason not just for fun. & like I said if you slowly zoom threw it, you’ll see knives in his body. & the song YUMMY , was not about Justin’s wife /fiancé like he said on the Ellen show. It’s a total lie. JUSTIN hashtag yummy on his Instagram & posted babies pictures & tagged accounts, he’s trying so hard to expose them honestly.. idk if it’s true or not but I saw a article on fb , Justin & Selena actually had a baby on the way. But people in the music industry killed it of course. Supposedly that why he mention a long time ago he was taking time off from music & reasons why he didn’t continue with his tour.
