So incredibly beautiful. Majestic, delicate, courageous, touching.

It's rainy season in the Philippines. The saying, "When it rains, it pours," couldn't ring more true for us Filipino music enthusiasts. How showered are we with blessings that Christine and the Queens, Ben Howard and Jenny Lewis all dropped (will be dropping) new albums in the same month barely days apart. I feel so aliiiiive.

Does anyone else just one more chorus tacked onto the end with the full accompaniment of percussion and orchestra? I hope that Christine comes to this conclusion when she is performing this live.

As far as I've read it is wellknown that Christine has gender "insecurities" and sometimes feels like a man and other times feels like the woman she was born as. I think "Marvin" represents the male part of her. I don't think it's a former lover as I've seen stated elsewhere. I think she is sort of battling with this confussion her body and mind brings her into. To me the latter part of the song/melody underlines this with the distorted rhytm sections being "Marvins" interruptions into her soul/mind/body. That part also allows me to feel how disturbing/distorted those interruptions are to Christine. It lets me feel how difficult it is for her to ignore "Marvin". It feels like she really wants to move past this phase, but is it possible? Only time will tell. I have not yet heard the whole album in the correct order, but I have a feelng there might be a few more leads and perhaps also some answers she feels like she has gotten if I isten to the whole album. For now I'm just enjying this song AND "A day in the water", which by the way also tells me a story of her trying to take stress away from this body-and-mind situation she is in. (Forgive me for writting "she" and "her", if those are not "her" preferred pronouns at the moment. I write this because I some time ago read an article stating that "she" had doubts on what "she" would like to be used as her pronouns)
