Un disco inspirado en la obra de teatro "Angels in America", del que ya ha estrenado dos singles: “To Be Honest” y “True Love”, ahora nos ofrece una tercera entrega. “Tears Can Be So Soft”, aporta otra vertiente, esencialmente porque tira hacia el trip-hop. El tema además se basa en un sample de Marvin Gaye, del “Fell All My Love Inside”. En concreto, el arreglo de cuerdas y congas de un disco editado en 1976, bajo el título de "I Want You". “Tears can be so soft” es una canción triste que nos habla del sufrimiento que provoca las lágrimas y el efecto curativo que pueden crear, algo tan doloroso como la vida misma. El tema se inicia con una referencia a su madre, fallecida hace unos años. "Añoro a mi madre", canta, para luego mencionar a otras personas a las que echa de menos, como a su amante, su hermano o sus amigos. Christine cuenta como experiencia propia que el acto de llorar puede ser liberador porque "las lágrimas pueden ser muy beneficiosas para los que se sumergen en ellas".
